What a gorgeous planet…but…

landscape photography of brown and gray mountain

you would think
living on a spinning garden
that meets all of our needs
and thrills us with its amazing beauty
every single day
would be enough
for men to stop killing everything
and start caring for  things instead
but no
death greed and  power
which are truly ugly things
are what’s important to them
death and hatred
seep from their disgusting
and deadly bodies
and minds
insanity
let loose
to kill

I read this somewhere…

herd of sheep on green grass field during daytime

the sheep
spend their lives
fearing the wolf
only to be eaten
by the shepherd

From the Tate Modern…

a woman standing in front of a wall with a quote on it

is this art
or just someone
stenciling words
on a wall
so he can deal
with his own problems
or is dealing with your own problems
what art really is

The end of summer…words

Free Beach Sea photo and picture

not everyone
is sorry to see the end of summer
there are those who love fall
and winter
but fall means
the leaves will be gone
the trees bare
their limbs
in stark reflection
against the gray sky
it means dark days
that fade
into night
far too soon
it means the flowers
will have disappeared
blandness
taking their place
snow will
be plowed into huge piles
turn black with dirt
and take forever
to melt
holidays will come
and go
homeless people
will freeze
some will refuse help
others will be found
much too late
winter
is a harsh but
beautiful
deep snowfalls at night
when there is no wind
no sound
is more magical
than one is able to describe
with mere words
the snow muffles everything
and one can feel like the last person
on earth
in the dead silence
that surrounds everything
and in that amazing moment
all bad things
disappear
just stillness
and fresh sparkling snow
unforgettable
but still
I long for summer
like a loving memory
that never fades
summer
is packing up
the sun’s light
getting weaker by the day
and coming in at angles
that show she is ready to go
I always try to hold on to her
until the last minute
wanting her to stay
just a little bit longer
but I am powerless
to keep her
when the nights
grow cool
and the plants
she so lovingly cared for
begin to fall asleep
❤️

Sign…words

Watch out for trucks coming downhill.

it’s possible
that this sign
has more
than one meanings
it seems to
tells people
not to kick trucks
not to get hit by them
and not to dance in front of them
I suppose
the choice
is up to you
😁

AZ QuOte: Jim Morrison

Jim Morrison quote: There are things known and things unknown and in between are The Doors.

it’s the in between places
that that we keep looking for
it’s where the answers
to our questions live
the in between
is where everything
is happening
earth
is just a place
where we try to justify
violence and cruelty
a place where we try to justify
our existence
but the things we come up with
are lies
because there is no truth here
none at all

A sign for almost everyone…words

The sign urges viewers to get more rest.

the lifestyles we have waiting for us
even as children
nowadays
all have to do with working
or doing something
I often wonder if they were designed
that way just to keep us exhausted
and easier to control
that makes perfect sense to me
sleep deprivation
is a form of torture
why do we allow ourselves
to never get enough
rest

A few more books I picked up here and there…

I started The Woman in the Library
but put it down and haven’t picked it up again
it didn’t hold my interest
I’ll probably finish it
but not positive
I just started a new book
on my Kindle
and I read a couple of other books
last week
but these the books shown here
I just found at Good Will
it’s okay that I’ll never live long enough
to read all the books I have
it’s  a library and the books are here
if I need them
the point of books is to surround oneself
with stories
with words and ideas
and artful covers
that make one make up their own stories
I’ve lived in books all my life
and the books stay alive
through all who read them
books are a gift
and they are so important
and threatening to our current
moronic government
that they are taking them off shelves
denying kids the right to read
they are threatening librarians
and if we don’t stop them
Fahrenheit 451
will be our reality
and so will
1984
the stage is set
buy books
read them
fight back
❤️

Spring…words

a couple of potted plants sitting on top of a wooden tray

spring is here
(some days)
it’s 40 degrees colder
than it was the other day
but still
new beginnings
color
beauty
birdsong
baby birds
and squirrels
even SUNSHINE
(now and then)
and I decided
that I need sand
I haven’t walked on a beach
for far too long
I also dream about my cat
Bunny
weighing 150 pounds
having stripes
and being more like a
Bengal Tiger
who would love wearing a harness
and going for long walks
Bunny however
is slim
about 7 pounds
sleek
white and gray
and hyper
so  there[s no way at all
she would ever think of wearing
a harness
still
the dream exists
no matter how far out of reach
it’s cold
winter cold
but the flowers are unwrapping themselves
and seem to be doing fine
I think they know
that the growing season around here
is only 6 hours long
so there’s no time to waste
everything is in a hurry
to climb out of the soil
before it starts snowing again
including me
and on the rare occasion
when the sun is out
and dappled light hits the streets
from between the branches
of leafy trees
Mother Nature
puts on Her magical puppet show
for anyone who would like to watch
the branches sway
moving the shadows
as they dance over the concrete
it’s a show you don’t want to miss
unfortunately
this whole week is going to be dark
(blah)
so the show has been cancelled
until further notice
and it’s going to be cold
(double blah)
with some much needed rain
(Yay!)
and the wind
has gone completely mad
I mean EVERYONE
is talking about
the never ending gusty wind
on top of that
it doesn’t seem fair
to have a 90 degree day
and
a 42 degree morning
but summer is tough
and once it makes up its mind
to move in
spring will be shoved
to the side
and all the green things
will get darker
and leafier
as they grow up
and breath in the warm air
reach for the blue sky
and the sun
before they are forced
to once again
curl up
and go back to sleep
for another whole year
❤️
