Rethinking Life

Stillness…words

this is
the dark interior
of a church
in Copenhagen
and I can feel
the stillness
from the photo
while I fear the church
might explode
if I entered
something my cousin
worried about
when we were in Italy
I know that once inside
one could see
dust motes
slowly drifting by
in the limited light
and feel heart rates
slowing
in the silence
and while
to some
it may look
like the setting
for a nightmare
on some street
there’s a kind of
peaceful
overall
dreamy feeling
that reaches out
toward the viewer
the picture
is beautifully
eerie
