The direct high-speed train service between Mohan Station and Chengdu South Station of the China-Laos Railway has been opened for round-trip travel.
Yunnan Xishuangbanna, July 2, Xinhua News Agency (He Siyuan) - On July 2, with the departure of Train D236 from Mohan Station of the China-Laos Railway, it marked the first direct high-speed train operation between Mohan in Xishuangbanna Prefecture on the China-Laos border and Chengdu, Sichuan.
This train departs from Mohan Station located on the border between China and Laos, passes through 12 stations including Xishuangbanna, Pu'er, Kunming, Guangtong North, and Xichang West and Emei in Yunnan, and finally arrives at Chengdu South Station, compressing the time and space distance from Mohan to Chengdu to about 12 hours. After the train arrives at Chengdu South Station, it departs from Chengdu South Station the next day for Mohan Station.

Currently, the highest number of cross-border passenger trains operated daily on the China-Laos Railway is 4. With the direct high-speed train service between Mohan Station and Chengdu South Station, it is convenient for tourists in Chengdu to travel to Laos via the China-Laos Railway, while also allowing international travelers entering China through the China-Laos Railway to reach Chengdu quickly, providing a more efficient transportation option for cross-border tourism and trade exchanges.
