The first dual-theme open service area in the country has been put into operation in Sichuan.
Chengdu, July 1 (Reporter Liu Zhongjun, Wang Peng) On July 1, the first batch of 'dual-use' pilot projects of the Ministry of Transport - the Sijing Toll Station of the Tianquan Service Area of the Yakang Expressway was officially opened and put into operation, marking an important breakthrough for Sichuan in promoting the integration of transportation and tourism development and enhancing the resilience of transportation services.

Photo by Zangao Company of Shudao GroupAccording to information, as the first dual-theme service area in the country integrating giant panda-themed culture and the function of the G318 scenic road entry portal, the Tianquan Service Area has long become a popular travel check-in destination on the expressway. With an annual passenger reception volume exceeding 10 million, it ranks among the top of expressway service areas across the country, and the vast passenger flow base lays a solid foundation for the innovation of the service area's open model.
The Sijing Toll Station, funded by the People's Government of Tianquan County and constructed by Zangao Company of Shudao Group, is located at the junction of the Tianquan Prohibition Road and the Yakang Expressway Tianquan Service Area, covering an area of 6.74 acres, with one entry and one exit in both directions, equipped with toll booths, toll station buildings, and using ETC and automatic card issuing and receiving equipment. It is worth mentioning that the Xunlong Qiao over the toll station canopy is 106 meters long, with the cultural theme of 'Xun love between mountains and rivers', using modern sensory and light and shadow technology to create a unique experience of 'strolling on the sky bridge, like a fish playing in the water', cleverly connecting local roads and the service area.
The Sijing Toll Station innovatively adopts a dual-function design of 'normal + emergency'. Normally, tourists and category one small passenger vehicles do not need to enter the expressway, and can directly reach the service area through pedestrian overpasses and vehicle passages, enjoying characteristic projects such as the giant panda culture display, visit to the Sichuan-Tibet Highway Museum, and tasting of caviar, fully satisfying the diverse travel and consumption needs of the public. In emergencies, the toll station can quickly convert into an emergency material transfer station and rescue channel, significantly enhancing the regional traffic emergency guarantee capability.

It is reported that with the opening of the Sijing Toll Station, the Tianquan Service Area has successfully transformed into an open comprehensive platform, achieving efficient convergence of expressway and local passenger traffic. In the future, the toll station will link up with existing museums, cultural facilities, business clusters within the service area, as well as the upcoming Zhuhaiyuxiang Museum, to build a full industry chain of 'eating, shopping, entertainment, rest, travel, and learning', promoting the upgrade of traditional service areas to tourist destinations and injecting new momentum into the beautiful travel of the masses and the rural revitalization of the local region.
