The Taiyuan Bureau of the State Railway is expected to send 17.05 million passengers, with an average of 275,000 passengers per day, an increase of 6% year-on-year. During this period, the Taiyuan Bureau of the State Railway plans to add 67 passenger trains to meet the maximum demand for passenger travel.

According to the forecast, this year's summer travel passenger flow is mainly for tourism, visiting relatives, study tours, etc. From the middle of July to the middle of August, passenger flow will remain at a high level. The overall trend is low at both ends and high in the middle, with weekend passenger flow exceeding that during the week. Passenger flow is mainly concentrated in central cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, as well as tourist destinations such as Suzhou, Qingdao, and Qinhuangdao, and within the province in Taiyuan, Datong, Yuncheng, Changzhi, and Jincheng.

During the summer travel period, the high-speed rail lines of the Taiyuan Bureau of the State Railway increased the deployment of transport capacity according to the peak traffic mode, adding 48 temporary EMU passenger trains. The first overnight through sleeping train from Taiyuan South to Shenzhen North was opened, as well as the through sleeping trains from Fengtai, Beijing to Chengdu East and Guiyang North via Taiyuan Station, and the overnight EMU trains from Taiyuan South to Qingdao North were added.

During the summer travel period, 19 temporary express passenger trains were added, including the first train running between Taiyuan and Xining, providing more travel options for passengers to travel to the northwestern region during the summer vacation. In addition, passenger trains running between Taiyuan and Pingyao, Houma, Datong and Jiaxiu, and Linfen and Lingqiu were opened, facilitating local and provincial travel for passengers. During the summer travel period, the Taiyuan Bureau of the State Railway promptly conducted passenger flow analysis, deeply researched market popular and emerging travel needs, accurately grasped the characteristics of passenger flow, and pre-judged the changes in passenger flow trends, optimizing and adjusting the train operation plan with 'one plan per day' to reasonably arrange transportation capacity and power.

In addition, in response to possible severe weather conditions during the summer travel period, the Taiyuan Bureau of the State Railway has improved its emergency response plan. In the event of extreme weather such as strong convective weather, measures such as reducing speed and parking for inspections will be taken to ensure the safety of passengers' travel.
