The day before, on June 30, Zhuhai Gree Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Gree Group') released an announcement regarding the change of the Chairman.

The announcement shows that Zhou Hui serves as the member of the Party Committee and Secretary of Zhuhai Gree Group Co., Ltd., and Kang Hong was removed from the positions of Secretary and member of the Party Committee of Zhuhai Gree Group Co., Ltd.

At the same time, Zhou Hui was appointed as the Director and Chairman of Zhuhai Gree Group, and Kang Hong was removed from the positions of Chairman and Director of Zhuhai Gree Group.

According to the resume, Zhou Hui is a male Han Chinese born in 1982 with a bachelor's degree. He once served as the member of the Committee of the Communist Party of China in the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Zhuhai City and the Deputy Director.

According to the official website, Gree Group is an independent corporate legal person funded and authorized to operate by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Zhuhai City, and the first state-owned capital investment and operation platform in Zhuhai. Gree Group and the well-known Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Gree Electric Appliances') are two separate companies. The two have a profound origin. Starting from April 2019, the news of 'planning to change the control rights' of Gree Electric Appliances attracted high attention from the market. At that time, the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Zhuhai City stated that this transfer of control rights could explore a new path for the mixed-ownership reform of state-owned enterprises.

In December 2019, the transfer of shares of Gree Electric Appliances was finalized. Zhuhai Mingjun acquired 15% of the shares of Gree Electric Appliances from Gree Group for nearly 41.7 billion yuan, officially becoming the largest shareholder of Gree Electric Appliances.

Dong Mingzhu once served as both the Chairman of Gree Group and the Chairman of Gree Electric Appliances. However, she resigned from the position of Chairman of Gree Group in 2016 and is currently still serving as the Chairman of Gree Electric Appliances.
