Indeed is a global employment website that was launched in November 2004 as a "search engine for jobs." It aggregates job listings from thousands of sources and provides tools and resources to connect job seekers with employers, including learning partnerships and career coaching services. Indeed helps improve learning and the workforce through a variety of tools, resources, and strategic initiatives focused on skills development and skills-first hiring.

When Indeed first launched, it focused on putting the job seeker first by transforming the classified ads model into a search engine for jobs that aggregated jobs from thousands of job boards, career sites, agencies, and newspapers.

Over the years, Indeed evolved from a search engine to an AI-powered two-sided marketplace operating in more than 60 countries and 28 languages. In 2012, Indeed was acquired by Recruit Holdings, a global leader in HR technology and business solutions, which has helped to further fuel the company’s worldwide growth.

Today, Indeed reports over 580 million job seeker Profiles, and more than 3.5 million employers. Indeed’s scale is made possible by the power of AI, which is transforming how job seekers are connected with employers.

Key activities include:

  • Udemy Partnership
  • Partnered with Udemy to offer job seekers access to over 26,000 courses for a limited free period, covering in-demand technical, business, and soft skills (like AI fluency, communication, and leadership). Through the partnership, job seekers can access "Career Accelerators" that combine courses, projects, and interview preparation for high-demand roles like Data Scientist and Full Stack Web Developer.
  • Job Search Academy
  • Offers a free, virtual career development program with on-demand workshops and live webinars to guide job seekers through the entire job search process, from resume writing to negotiation.
  • AI-Powered Hiring Tools
  • Indeed's AI tools (such as AI Job Description Generator and Smart Sourcing) help employers efficiently match with relevant candidates based on skills and qualifications, streamlining the hiring process and allowing for a focus on a skills-based approach. The AI-powered "Indeed Career Scout" acts as a personal career coach, helping users explore career paths, tailor resumes, fill out applications, and prepare for interviews.
  • Employer Resources
  • Maintains an Employer Resource Library with over 15,000 articles offering advice, how-to's, and best practices for businesses on hiring, retention, and employee development, including topics like microlearning and professional growth opportunities.
