Making Sense of the Senses

Sammi Cox Weekend Writing Prompt #458-Sensibility

Boo Boo

Whenever something’s wrong
And I know that I am right
I always bellow BOO BOO
And do it just for spite

Whenever stuff seems faulty
And is rotten more or less
I hoot and holler BOO BOO
Like everyone else at WordPress

RDP Wednesday: CRAZY

For Your Honey

Got a honey who is waiting
Who is wondering and more
What you’re gonna give her
And just what is the score

Well you might try roses
And candy is really nice
But WordPress has something
And you’ll really like the price

Just go to her Blog
That will never make her blue
Write a super-duper comment
Maybe even write two

Surprise your little sweetie
You’ll be a great success
And forever be blogging buddies
In dear old WordPress

After I wrote this poem I saw a writing challenge to write in third person. So I tried.

The Daily Spur “Write in deep third person”.

He knew his honey was waiting and wondering what he was gonna give her for Valentine’s Day. But he worried even more about what the score between them was. He thought he might send roses or candy as they were very nice. Then he considered just mailing a card to her which probably would be at a cheaper price. But then he reckoned leaving a super-duper comment on her blog for that would never make her blue. And maybe he’d even write her two. This surprise for his sweetie would be a great success and forever they’d be blogging buddies at dear old WordPress.

I think I’ll not try that again.

Blogging in My Dreams

I’m blogging in my dreams blogging to extremes
Somehow in the middle of the night
I think of something to write
Rhymes they come and go
I awake with nothing to show
Don’t like the light I want the night
To blog in my dreams

I’m blogging in my dreams writing of sunbeams
Somehow when I am asleep
An idea forms from the deep
Rhymes they come and go
I awake with nothing to show
Don’t like the light I want the night
To blog in my dreams

Time to wake up!

“The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up.”Paul Valery

“One day you will wake up & there won’t be any more time to do the things you’ve always wanted. Do it now.” Paulo Coelho

Meme’s Piano Bar – 9

Come on and hear Come on and hear
Alexander’s ragtime band
Come on and hear Come on and hear
It’s the best band in the land

They can play a bugle call
Like you never heard before
So natural that you want to go to war
That’s just the bestest band what am
Oh my honey lamb

Come on along Come on along
Let me take you by the hand
Up to the man Up to the man
who’s the leader of the band,

And if you care to hear the Swanee River
Played in rag-time
Come on and hear Come on and hear
Alexander’s ragtime band

“Don t play this piece fast. It is never right to play ragtime fast.” Scott Joplin

“Ragtime was my lullaby.” Hoagy Carmichael

Meme’s Piano Bar – 8

Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Blue birds singing a song
Nothing but blue birds all day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you’re in love my how they fly

Blue days all of them gone
Nothing but blue skies from now on

There’s an old bird on the top row.

I’ll sing Blue Skies ladysighs cried
How she tried and tried and tried
Great effort she applied
Soon her vocal chords died
But ladysighs still had her pride

Ladysighs tried a happier song
Invited blogging friends to sing along
Each put on a sarong
And sailed away to Hong Kong
Singing ladysighs is a nutty ding dong

TheDailySpur Word Prompt – sigh

Baby Face
You’ve got the cutest little
Baby Face

There’s not another one
Could take your place
Baby Face

My poor heart is jumping
You sure have started something
Baby Face

I’m up in heaven
When I’m in
Your fond embrace

I didn’t need a shove
‘Cause I just fell in love
With your pretty little
Baby Face
