Sharin’ Sharon – FOWC

There is a gal named Sharon
For friends she’s always a carin’
Once she thought and she thought
Of the cantaloupes she bought
And said with neighbors I’ll be sharin’

Sharon is never gloomy or glum
And would share with you her last crumb
She never grumbles or groans
Nor mumbles or moans
Tell me where her kindness comes from

Sharon is my neighborhood friend
For many things on her I depend
When I feel a bit frail
She picks up my mail
To her love and best wishes I send

“There is no possession more valuable than a good and faithful friend.” Socrates

“It’s the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.” Marlene Dietrich

Ladysighs Sings

Her fans begged Ladysighs to sing
Some delight to us please do bring
First she cackled then she cluckled
Behind her back how they chuckled
And said she was but a ding-a-ling

Ladysighs said I tried my best
And I thank you for the request
That you thought I sang bad
Will never make me mad or sad
If you can sing better be my guest

********

When I sing I feel happy. When friends listen to me I feel lucky.

The Urge

One night Lady Sighs had a great urge
To perform a funeral dirge
Those hearing her voice
Had only one choice
And soon her song they did purge

A Pet for St Patrick

Young St.Patrick he wanted a pet
To find a nice dog off he set
On a stray he gave tugs
And sweet Irish hugs
He now has a pet you can bet

A stray dog felt a tug on his neck
He turned round and round for to check
Found a lad dressed in green
Who seemed nice and not mean
I’ll make him my pet what the heck

Lady Lilly

There once was a lady named Lily
Who lived on a road called Piccadilly
When receiving a threat
Of her upcoming death
She sighed this is perfectly silly

Insight Into Santa

There once was a fellow in red
Dressed colorfully from toes to head
He delivered gifts like a saint
But he had one complaint
He’d rather play golf instead

A Bit About Me

This is the first time I have participated in SHARE YOUR WORLD. I do enjoy reading entries of others. The questions to answer are:

  • Would you consider yourself easy going?
  • Are you comfortable talking to a group of strangers at a social gathering?
  • What are three things about people that annoy you?
  • What do you do to cheer yourself up when you’re feeling down in the dumps?

I rarely socialized with the popular group when I was young and definitely never did much talking. I did sass my mom back as she said something that annoyed me. But I only did that once!!! Mother got very irritated and I felt quite uncomfortable sitting for a while after I felt her punishment. I seldom feel down in the dumps and have dumped all those bad memories.

There once was an easy going girl
‘Round WordPress how she did twirl
She wrote rhymes and verse
Each one worse and worse
But annoying words she never did hurl

Meme’s Piano Bar – 8

Blue skies smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies do I see
Blue birds singing a song
Nothing but blue birds all day long

Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you’re in love my how they fly

Blue days all of them gone
Nothing but blue skies from now on

There’s an old bird on the top row.

I’ll sing Blue Skies ladysighs cried
How she tried and tried and tried
Great effort she applied
Soon her vocal chords died
But ladysighs still had her pride

Ladysighs tried a happier song
Invited blogging friends to sing along
Each put on a sarong
And sailed away to Hong Kong
Singing ladysighs is a nutty ding dong

Forbidden Fruit

In a garden we made a foolish wish
We asked for fruit in a dish
Our wish was a waste
With a terrible taste
It felt like a scrunch and went squish

RDP – Stumble

A cyberpunk very rough-and-tumble
Into a cheap bar each day he would stumble
He did gripe he did grumble
About the drinks he did mumble
Murmuring words that never were humble
