Extraordinary Neighbor

Across the street lives a guy named Gary
To Sharin’ Sharon long ago he did marry
When I ask his help he never does tarry
I find him to be very extraordinary
And happy he is not imaginary

Sharin’ Sharon – FOWC

There is a gal named Sharon
For friends she’s always a carin’
Once she thought and she thought
Of the cantaloupes she bought
And said with neighbors I’ll be sharin’

Sharon is never gloomy or glum
And would share with you her last crumb
She never grumbles or groans
Nor mumbles or moans
Tell me where her kindness comes from

Sharon is my neighborhood friend
For many things on her I depend
When I feel a bit frail
She picks up my mail
To her love and best wishes I send

Bridge to the Moon

What a thrilling week this has been as we watched the flight to the moon and back. The moon has always fascinated us and some of you will be watching the next trip. Many songs have been written about the moon. No matter what we find there, the moon will always glow with romance. I gathered the songs I have tried to sing over the years. I made a blog post for most of them in the past. I don’t expect you to listen to all of them but maybe you have a favorite and will sing along.

RDP SATURDAY: BRIDGE

Thunder Showers

I’m waiting for Thor’s thunderous showers
Fresh rain is needed to grow fine flowers
I do not want devilish dreary drizzles
That turn my hair into frightening frizzles
I dare the downpour to last four hours

RDP Tuesday! Showers!

Easter Basket

A Tisket a Tasket! I spy eight elegant eggs waiting for me in a pretty precious basket. An eager enchanting Easter Bunny delivered them to me while in my bed I was sleeping. Listen! Do you not hear the cheery charming chicks peeping?

Tasty

The joy you bring to me
When you visit my blog each day
Is so sweet and delightful
What more is there to say

I haven’t much to offer
Just a rhyme or thought or two
So I made some chocolate candy
That I’ll gladly share with you

Have a piece of chocolate cake
How tasty is the icing
Take a knife in your hand
And then begin the slicing
The rich cocoa flavor
It is so very enticing
Today your share is on the house
But tomorrow I start high pricing

Silly Sane Sighs Speaks

The Daily Spur writing exercise March 24: “Write an alliteration”.

I chose to write about some of my favorite blogging buddies – with deepest respect.

~~~~~
Brilliant Bonnie Beth bought bananas in Battle Creek.
Britta Benson babbled, bragged and boasted about her bold braininess.
Foolish Fandango fried fresh fish in Florida.
Gifted and giddy ghostmmnc got good grades in grammar school.
Strong smart sincere Sadje started shouting and screaming sweet salutations.
Under a Tree
I’m under a tree all by myself
with my beautiful picture book
I invite you now to sit right down
and with me have a little look
Together we’ll turn the pages
enjoy each one by one
Lovely places we will visit
and have such wonderful fun
On Roman roads we’ll travel
the Tower of Pisa up we will climb
Learn about historical locations
without paying one silver dime
Happily we will smile
as we sail up and down the Nile
Time spent at the pyramids
will make it well worth our while
When we finish we’ll close the book
staying under the tree for shade
To eat cake and cookies
while sipping sweet lemonade
RDP SATURDAY: BOOK CLUB
Empty Chair
I sat across from an empty chair
Yet I still saw you sitting there
I filled your plate with pork and beans
But you had left me so it seems
I wondered why you went and where
You approached a window I saw you peak in
With gray whiskers all over your chin
I threw the beans into the trash
When in your hands I viewed some cash
At the races you finally did win
Into the house you did slink
Tossing the money on the kitchen sink
You stacked the bills into many piles
And on my face came dozens of smiles
For now I could buy a coat of mink
The Stroll
Stroll with me way back when I was seventeen
I loved doing The Stroll I was the dancing queen
I searched for a YouTube video showing a popular dance called The Stroll. When I saw the first couple strolling I was shocked because the girl looked exactly like me. Of course it wasn’t me. Of course it isn’t me.
This is the couple in the video
A girl friend and I are practicing The Stroll in a music shop where we worked. I am on the left.
RDP Wednesday: STROLL
