WDYS – News

I
am sad
to hear your
unhappy news
Do take these flowers
I hope they cure your blues
Now your love will be all mine
I am sure the sun will soon shine
Without her all will turn out just fine
I am sad to hear your unhappy news

“To know one thing, you must know the opposite.” Henry Moore

Why Don’t You Do Right

Started blogging back in 2002
In WordPress is where I met you
Why don’t you do right like other bloggers do
Don’t come around unless you leave a like or two

Sitting here wondering what bloggin’s about
You never read the poems that I put out
Why don’t you do right like other bloggers do
Don’t come around unless you leave a like or two

I’ve plenty of rhymes twenty-two or more
Just don’t know who I’m writing them for
Why don’t you do right like other bloggers do
Don’t come around unless you leave a comment too

Ragtag Daily Thursday-April 16: Lone

“Solitude is the soil in which genius is planted, creativity grows, and legends bloom; faith in oneself is the rain that cultivates a hero to endure the storm, and bare the genesis of a new world, a new forest.” Mike Norton, White Mountain

Sharin’ Sharon – FOWC

There is a gal named Sharon
For friends she’s always a carin’
Once she thought and she thought
Of the cantaloupes she bought
And said with neighbors I’ll be sharin’

Sharon is never gloomy or glum
And would share with you her last crumb
She never grumbles or groans
Nor mumbles or moans
Tell me where her kindness comes from

Sharon is my neighborhood friend
For many things on her I depend
When I feel a bit frail
She picks up my mail
To her love and best wishes I send

“There is no possession more valuable than a good and faithful friend.” Socrates

“It’s the friends you can call up at 4 a.m. that matter.” Marlene Dietrich

Tasty

The joy you bring to me
When you visit my blog each day
Is so sweet and delightful
What more is there to say

I haven’t much to offer
Just a rhyme or thought or two
So I made some chocolate candy
That I’ll gladly share with you

Have a piece of chocolate cake
How tasty is the icing
Take a knife in your hand
And then begin the slicing
The rich cocoa flavor
It is so very enticing
Today your share is on the house
But tomorrow I start high pricing

“Chocolate is cheaper than therapy, and you don’t need an appointment.” – Jill Shalvis

“I could give up chocolate but I’m not a quitter.” – Lora Brody

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

‘Nature herself does not distinguish between what seed it receives. It grows whatever seed is planted; this is the way life works. Be mindful – of the seeds you plant today, as they will become the crop you harvest.” – Mary Morrissey

Blogging in My Dreams

I’m blogging in my dreams blogging to extremes
Somehow in the middle of the night
I think of something to write
Rhymes they come and go
I awake with nothing to show
Don’t like the light I want the night
To blog in my dreams

I’m blogging in my dreams writing of sunbeams
Somehow when I am asleep
An idea forms from the deep
Rhymes they come and go
I awake with nothing to show
Don’t like the light I want the night
To blog in my dreams

Time to wake up!

Come on and hear Come on and hear
Alexander’s ragtime band
Come on and hear Come on and hear
It’s the best band in the land

They can play a bugle call
Like you never heard before
So natural that you want to go to war
That’s just the bestest band what am
Oh my honey lamb

Come on along Come on along
Let me take you by the hand
Up to the man Up to the man
who’s the leader of the band,

And if you care to hear the Swanee River
Played in rag-time
Come on and hear Come on and hear
Alexander’s ragtime band

“Don t play this piece fast. It is never right to play ragtime fast.” Scott Joplin

“Ragtime was my lullaby.” Hoagy Carmichael

Expectations

She made a trip to the grocery store
She’d been there many times before
She was hungry and wanted more
She cast her eyes upon the door

Expectations what a curse
Every chapter every verse
How they fill the universe
She supposed things could be worse

Baby Face
You’ve got the cutest little
Baby Face

There’s not another one
Could take your place
Baby Face

My poor heart is jumping
You sure have started something
Baby Face

I’m up in heaven
When I’m in
Your fond embrace

I didn’t need a shove
‘Cause I just fell in love
With your pretty little
Baby Face
