Publish

Publish your Doc and edit its URL slug.

TL;DR

Publish your Doc
Click Publish to make your Doc public.

Open published link
Access your document through the Open Link option or the globe icon.

Edit the slug
Modify the slug in the slug field as necessary.

Confirm slug change
Reopen the link to see the updated slug.

1. Publish Your Doc

  1. Open your Doc and click the Publish button.

  2. Select Publish.

Your Doc is now published and a confirmation menu appears.

2. Open the Published Link

  1. Click Open Link to view your Doc.

You can now access your Doc through the provided link.

3. Edit the URL Slug

  1. Go back to your Doc on Instant Docs and locate the slug field.

  2. Edit the slug as needed.

  3. Check the availability of the slug.

  4. Click the check mark if the slug is available.

Your slug is now updated and available for use.

4. Verify the Slug Change

  1. Open the link again to confirm the slug change.

The slug has been successfully changed, and the new URL is now live.

FAQ

How do I preview my article?
Open the article in the doc editor, and click the "eye" icon in the top-right corner of the page.
Why can't I publish my article?
Please note: Only users with Full Access can publish articles. To update your Knowledge Base permissions to Full Access, please reach out to an admin in your InstantDocs account. An admin can update the permissions by: Accessing the Knowledge Base menu > Share > Invite > Enter the user email address > Select "Full Access" in the drop down > Click "Invite". (Quick tip: To access the Knowledge Base menu and settings, hover over the Knowledge Base name in the left-side panel of your InstantDocs dashboard, then click the three dots.
