Squares – Rain

For Becky’s challenge:

There’s plenty of choice this month

***

There are four Squares themes, and you can use all or one, or a few of them;

Burgeoning – Move Forward – Reconstruct – Renew

***

Here we are usually hot, dry, and dusty, so when it rains it is like a refreshing, renewal for everyone and everything. I know we love when it rains after a long dry spell, so we marvel and feel uplifted. I’m sure these trees are enjoying it, too.

These photos show the rain coming down in parallel lines! The two trees are in two different neighbor’s yards across from us.

Nature Photo Challenge #22: Tree bark

Looking way up at the gnarly bark on a tall tree trunk.

This is part of our big fruitless Mulberry tree in our front yard, showing some of the bark. I hung the metal wind chime on a branch many years ago. It is metal, with bells, and the word Love spelled out on top. It has been there so long the tree has grown around the hanger part of the chime. Guess it’s our love tree. 🙂

A couple of other tree bark photos – one with a round area where a branch was cut off, and the other a very large crooked branch.

We visited the park/playground one day and walked along the paths.

I took this photo at our local amusement park, called Joyland.

White carousel horse with black pointy feather mane, green & gold halter & pink decoration around his chest.

Here are some photos of trees in a park here, showing their gnarly bark.

First one is looking upward into the tree branches. I was standing right under, by the trunk. (Browns & greens)

The next one is a close up of the bark. Bark on trees is always interesting in the patterns it makes, and how rough it feels.

Third photo is another tree in a park, Can you find the squirrel? (he’s sitting in shadows as a silhouette way up in the branches – upper left)

Last photo is another park tree. It’s roots and bark are mostly in the water, with green branches hanging over.

Flower of the Day – Blooming Trees

Millions of little white blossoms on these spring trees. This photo was from another spring, another year, but they are the same as the trees around town now. They are all blossomed out.

These are some pine trees I saw recently when we went to the lake for a picnic and fishing with family members.

The prompt words for # 16 is for a tree, and today’s # 17 is ice, so combining them gets ‘ice tree’.

The photos show winter scenes of a completely ice covered tree branches that was in our neighborhood one year.

The second one was from years ago. The tree in the back yard had such heavy ice covered branches it was bent all the way to the ground. Our dog at the time was walking under.

The third one was from this past winter – several birds – doves – were perched up in the front yard tree which was covered with ice and snow.
