“Fangs”

~

Sharp the fangs

And red eyes pierce

My wicked visage

Is most fierce

Look not upon my face of fear

Lest you feel me rip and tear

Witchy Fun

***

This is a poem I wrote for October Poetry Writing Month, way back in 2014.

There are a lot of TV and movie witches that have brought us fun entertainment over the years.

Being it’s Halloween again, I thought I’d re-post it. Enjoy! 🙂

***

WITCHY FUN

From Oz to Salem, to suburban mayhem,

The witches entertained us all.

The witch of the west, was creepy at best,

And Glinda was belle of the ball.

Samantha twitched her nose,

Whenever she chose, and

Sabrina’s cat talks to her, it is true.

Elphaba was wicked,

Endora was vivid…

They all were an interesting crew.

Lily was beautiful and knew what to do

When Herman and Grandpa cooked up a brew.

The Sanderson sisters were funny and camp,

The witches of Eastwick were duped…

They all used their craft, and a bit of their vamp,

But Morticia’s my all favorite champ.

Feeling a little edgy,

Getting closer every day

Knock three times

Spooks come out to play

It’s all in fun until you fall

Down deep, so far away

So be forewarned, step lightly as you go

The edge is closer than you think

‘Cause darkness won’t delay

DECEPTION

Six times six times six, again

Dark and lonely, was I in…

This moldy grave.

Barely breathing, heart still beating…

None to hear my mad-man rave.

Cursed and cast into the void,

For eons have I toyed…

To claim all psyche’s pure and good…

To corrupt them, if I could.

Six feet under, left asunder,

Tricked them, now they’re mine…

They never knew I was immortal,

To rise again…it’s time.

Years of torture, hell’s departure…

Vengeance will be taken.

I’ll tempt, and bend, and lure to sin

And, they shall be forsaken.

Prompt # 7 = Kill or Cure

FALLING APART

Don’t freak the freak out, when you call in distress…

You got yourself right into this mess.

Why come to me, singing the blues?

My dears, you didn’t have to choose.

Don’t call and expect a brand new me

To show up and change into what will never be.

You made your decision, and so did I…

You kill with precision, you told me good-bye.

Now you’re falling apart, you want me to fix it…

I followed my heart, but I’m no hypocrite.

My new found love, was my salvation,

But, I’m feeling torn, with obligation.

I love you all, my heart bleeds every day

With tears and regrets…I’ll come, but not stay.

My advice you will hear, but it won’t be a cure…

You’ll work it out, of that I am sure.

My life is elsewhere, it’s crazy and hard,

But, we’ve mended some fences, and that’s our reward.

SOCS – alarm & Other Prompts

Standard

SOCS – alarm  & Other Prompts

For Linda’s challenge:

The Friday Reminder and Prompt for #SoCS Oct. 25, 2025

***

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “alarm.” Use it as a noun, use it as a verb or an adverb or an adjective, use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

***

One Day … it was a gloomy October morning with the threat of a drizzly cold rain from the clouds. No cause for alarm. I love gray days better than bright sunny ones. Sunlight hurts my eyes, and burns my skin, and makes me sweat. Rain is perfect, whether hard driving or soft sprinkles, I like it all.

Since it was a Saturday Stream of Consciousness kind of day, I thought I’d do something different. I’d try to put several prompts I’d been working on all in one post. I don’t usually do that,  but lots of bloggers do. I’ve found out it is a little bit alarming to me, trying to gather them all up, move them over here, and try not to  mess it all up.

Oh before I did all that, I had another alarm story I was going to tell.  One Day years ago, we went to the post office to mail some packages. There was a long line of course. All of a sudden the fire alarm went off in the building. It was so loud and it would not shut off. It was a glitch or something because there was no fire. So we all just stayed in line, and stayed in line, because no one wanted to give up their place in line. But it was sooooo loud! Finally I think it was our turn at the counter and we did mail stuff, and left. I guess eventually they got that noise shut off. At least I hope so. Maybe it is still alarming people, you reckon?

So now I’ve got it mostly done, I’ll wait to see what happens. It might all go to hell in a hand basket!

Inktober # 5 – Rowdy

Inktober #  5 – Rowdy

***

Today’s # 24 prompt word is Rowdy. I just used my black ink pen as usual. Now here is a real life story …

***

Rowdy’s gang. They were a rag-tag group of several little dogs that roamed around. Rowdy belonged to another neighbor, but he was always running loose with his gang. They were so funny. Rowdy was the leader, and was the only one we knew the name of the little dog. They would scrunch under the backyard fence gate one at a time, run all around then leave the same way. Every0ne in the neighborhood called them Rowdy’s gang. Here I just drew a fence and 3 dogs. This was years ago. I think the owners moved away.

Inktober ’25 – Rivals/Blast/Button

***

***

For this one I used a Pilot – FriXion Clicker 07 – black ink – erasable …and ooly Very Berry Strawberry scented gel pens in orange, black, & green for the cats and grass, and a little blue in the letters of the words Cat Rivals.

***

These two cats, one black, one orange look like they are having a fight.

***

***

And today’s is Blast

Drawing shows sticks of dynamite TNT and detonator box in red ink, and then the word blast, and the head of a person wearing sunglasses as they say ‘noooo’ when they see a nuclear blast cloud (in red) going up at a distance.

***

***

The next prompt was for ‘button’, so I drew a blue button with 4 holes and a needle & thread, and also a small panel you might see on an elevator with push button for up and down in red.
