This unusual sky blue flower bed was outside a little shop. It has roses growing in it. We didn’t go in the shop (we were going to a restaurant next door), but it sure caught my attention. It looks like an actual little bed frame, with headboard. It’s also a rectangle box where they planted a bed of roses. On the front of the box it has the word ’boutique’ in big white letters. It’s in front of a window and brick wall.

While visiting my daughter and family, we visited the National WW1 Museum and Memorial. We also went up to the top of the tower, where we could walk around the top looking at a 360 degree view of Kansas City.

The first two photos show the tower from a distance, then very close up looking way up to the top of it.

I saw these at the floral department in the grocery store. I’d never seen these kind before, so now I’ve looked up what they are. Turns out they are Craspedia, and also known as Billy Balls, or Billy Buttons. They are really pretty, and unique. These are perfectly round with many tiny petals. 🙂

This little vase is cute, and unusual. I like it! There is some kind of plant/flower with long pink spidery petals. The vase looks like a clear light bulb with pink colored water. 🙂

This is a small arrangement of what I’d call frilly flowers. They are carnations, pink and yellow ones, and some pink many petaled flower I don’t know what is. The one carnation in the middle is light pink, but the edges of the petals are outlined in a dark purple, which is interesting.

A different look for the traditional Poinsettia, as these have leaves that are sort of pink. They are called Apricot.

This is a light purple Poinsettia.

They are really unusual and pretty. I read that the grower sprays dye on a light colored Poinsettia, shortly before shipping. As the plant ages, the colored bracts fall off and the plant will be in original color that it started out as.

I saw these interesting flowers at the store. The tag said they were Bells of Ireland.

On reading about them, I found they are not native to Ireland, but come from Turkey. They are also called a shell flower, and are a symbol of good luck.

These are bright green, shell shaped flowers.
