I saw this fluffy cat out on the sidewalk one day, leaving it’s shadow along with the tree branch shadows. Her face and body is in shadow, except the top of her back is in sunlight. She is looking my way as I took the photo. 🙂

This is a photo of the sun rise. It is very bright, peeking out after the overnight rain.

See the black cat at the bottom of the photo? I interrupted breakfast time when I went out there, but he came right back. 🙂

7:36 a.m.

Another time early morning after the sun is up a little higher.  This day started out all pink and gray, partly cloudy, with the sun’s reflection on the lake by our house.

I took this picture of Sonny the cat one morning as he was contemplating the first day of autumn.  I like how the photo showed the tall dried grasses caught the sunlight and also kind of outlined his fur in gold.

My deadbeat car battery turned septic when it stopped working, but the stray cat called all his friends to the driveway for a kitty fiesta. They spent the rest of the night dancing in the moonlight prowling and howling, jumping and scratching all around that car.

WOTD – Wink

For Word of the Day Challenge:

This little kitty is named Wink.

He is the resident cat at the vet’s office, where we  used to take our cat Cricket.

I asked about the office kitty, and took his picture. They said he is blind in one eye, so they called him Wink. He’s such a good kitty, nice and friendly to everyone that comes in, people and animals of all kinds. He comes over to say hi. He has a soft little bed up on the counter, too. I showed him (and the receptionist) a little video of my daughter’s cat playing with his toy, and they liked it, too. Wink was really interested in this, and wants a toy like that, too. 🙂 (I posted this a long time ago, and I don’t remember what toy it was, and now my daughter’s cat has crossed over the rainbow bridge. Our cat Cricket has departed, also. So we haven’t been back to that vet’s office. I wonder if Wink is still there?)

I think this black and white cat was seriously contemplating how to carry out his plan on catching a bird.

The black cat was on top of the bird feeder post, waiting for a bird to come by. The birds didn’t fall for his trick, so he got down, and came up to the porch. Looks like he’s asking why the birds didn’t come to him! Silly kitty. 🙂

… photos show the cat on top of a wooden post where we hung the bird feeder. He sits there, then walks across the top rail, then climbs down head first. Then he is on our back porch looking up at me as if to ask why his plan didn’t work. Or else he wanted a treat for his troubles. haha

Well, I don’t know if this is about a significant other, but we always had songs we associated with our pets. This one was for my daughter’s cat, Gretchen. She lived with us for many years, and was such a character. She loved my husband better than anybody.

At night he would go into the bedroom to read and close the door. Gretchen would go to the door in the hallway, and scratch three times. He would open the door and she’d jump on the bed to snuggle with him until lights out. His nickname for her was Sweetness!

This was every night. She didn’t look kindly to anyone disrupting her routine, either. She’d give us the furry eyeball if we came in on ‘her time’.  Anyway, we always thought this song was her song. ❤

Gretchen was an awesome cat. Sadly, she traveled over the rainbow bridge a few years ago. She was a beautiful Tortoiseshell Cat, and definitely had the Tortie ‘cattitude’. 🙂
