Dan is now hosting Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge! Find information at the below link. Thanks so much for continuing this fun challenge each week, Dan.

For this week’s prompt we are to find spring or autumn or  both photos:

Autumn or Spring — or Both — CFFC

***

This photo is of some red leaves from the Virginia Creeper Vine which turn red every autumn. They are up against the wooden fence.

***

These four yellow leaves came from our fruitless mulberry tree in the front yard. It always has tons of leaves that fall in the fall season.

***

It’s Spring, and trees all over are showing their white blossoms.

Lots of buds on our tree getting ready to spring into leaves

Also in the spring, there are all the fresh packages of flower and vegetable seeds we can  buy.

However, we don’t need seeds for the first spring flowers, the  pretty yellow dandelions! 🙂

And this was for a past prompt of travel hubs that I forgot to post:

One Word Sunday – Above

For Debbie’s One Word Sunday

Above

This prompt goes two different directions, I think. One way is of me above, taking photos of things below, and then me below, taking pictures of things above me, over my head. Anyway, this is how I saw it. 🙂

Here’s some I’ve taken:

Here we are looking up at three pairs of mannequin legs dressed in leggings (blue/black/gray) in a store. There were no upper bodies!

Then here are the U.S. flag, a highway overpass, and two horse statues up high.

***

Now I was looking up at these …

Looking up inside the dome of the TX Capitol Building in Austin (there’s a star right in the middle, I guess for our motto – the Lone Star State?”

The next photos show:

  • looking up above at winter bare tree branches
  • Icicles hanging off roof edge
  • Airplane flying overhead
  • tall pole with power lines
  • Gretchen (our cat from years ago) up in the top of a cabinet looking down at us

From a different perspective I now show that I am above, taking photos of things below me…

FLYING IN AN AIRPLANE

A long time ago, when I was in school, we were asked what we would like to do someday, a sort of goal. I wrote that I’d like to go somewhere on an airplane. At the time this seemed very far-fetched for me to ever do. Then, not too many years later, I got my chance.

My husband was in the Army, serving in Viet Nam. They were allowed a week’s leave of R & R (rest and recuperation)…a short vacation. We decided to meet up in Hawaii.

Travelling there was by airplane – my first time on one, and my goal was met. I only had to change planes one time. I loved every minute of it. That was the start of many more plane rides over the years. One of the air carriers is no longer in business…Braniff. I actually still have a couple of small, plastic cups that I was served coffee in, from Braniff.

Other airlines I’ve travelled on are, Southwest, Continental, American, Boeing, Delta, Air France, Lufthansa, and MAC (Military Aircraft Carrier). There have been jets, a 707, a 747, turbo props, twin engines, puddle jumpers, and a helicopter.

The overseas flights were very long, and the shortest one was from Dallas, Tx. to Paris, Tx. One flight I almost missed (in France), and there have been overnight layovers. Every one of them have been so much fun.

Travelling by plane has changed quite a bit, since my first experience with flying. Maybe it was the era, or the airlines policies, I don’t know. Back then, the passengers were treated to a full course meal on a tray, with those little coffee cups, cutlery, and menus. I still have a very large menu from one of them. On the overseas flights, we were able to watch a movie or two on a pull down screen. We were given headphones to plug into the arm rest, so we could hear it. There were also several radio station bands we could tune into.

You were offered a pillow, a blanket, and soft socks to wear, also. This was all while riding in coach seating…not first class!

So, I can say without a doubt, I love flying on an airplane, even now, when all you are offered is peanuts or crackers!
