Today’s prompt word is ‘below’. First thing I thought of is this song I like a lot, then below that is some more things I thought of being below. 🙂

The thing with stairs is, are they going up or down? Depends on your perspective and which way you are intending to go, doesn’t it.

Below ground
The next photo is a half dug-0ut house. It is located at the Ranching Heritage Center here in town. It is actually dug into the side of a hill, and the items were brought here from the original half dug-out located in another county. People long ago who were settling this area, made these type of houses, since there are very few trees around to make above ground houses with the wood. They usually had dirt floors, too.

I’ve also been below ground in a dirt storm cellar, hiding from tornadoes! Before our cellar was build at home our neighbor had a dirt cellar we’d go to when there were tornadoes around. It was spidery and spooky.

Below ground while visiting a cave is really interesting! I’ve been to Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico a few times, and also Inner Space in Round Rock Texas. Beautiful natural structures, yet still kind of spooky and musty in the caves.
