One Word Sunday – Pointed

For Debbie’s challenge:

Pointed

Today’s photo is of spiky  and pointy ice formations.

I used to make tea for drinking iced tea later in the day, and put it in an old Mr. Coffee glass pot. I put it in the refrigerator. Then, I notice sometimes that ice has formed on the top of the liquid. It looked pretty interesting, so I took some photos, then zoomed it in closer.

I think the ice makes some really pretty designs, which looks pointy and spiky. 🙂

Ice formations on top of brown liquid – icy spikes look kind of like spiders or bugs

Then, I have this photo of some icicles hanging off the roof. This is an old photo from the house I used to live in when I was a kid. Icicles are pretty pointy, too!

Finally our fruitless Mulberry tree has begun to have nice green buds appearing. Yay for Spring! 🙂

photos show:

  • green Crayola crayon with a scribble on white paper
  • my paintings – rocks painted to look like cactus plants in a terracotta flower pot, and a little painting of a brown dog & cat with a green ball of yarn on a yellow background
  • My creation of an all green painted wood fairy house with butterfly and flower decorations glued on – the word Bestest in white beads, and a little sign that says ‘Fairy Tale’, too.
  • A collectible little boy doll dressed in green uniform of a station attendant, and hat, and tin box container – of the Texaco Gas Company

Mar y Tierra

This place is close by our house. It is Mexican food, but we only went once. It was okay, but very bland and kind of tasteless in our opinion.

The surprise was this turtle decoration.

This was a large ceramic turtle with a smaller turtle riding on it’s back. I have no idea why it was in this Mexican food restaurant. I know turtle wasn’t on the menu! It’s a cute decoration, though.

Sometimes the creatures that belong outside, do get inside!

Wasp!

This wasp has been hanging around our garage for the past few days.  (2020) Here it is on the window. We open the door and he flies out.

This is a red poinsettia flower/plant with green leaves. It has been sprayed with gold glitter, making it very festive.

This photo is of an egg we were frying. It has a double yolk! Then the reflection in the pan looks like a smile, below the double yolk ‘eyes’. haha!

Here there is a beer label with two XX (Cerveza DOS EQIS) and it is green with the Xs in red.

Seeing double? Yes, there are two twin orange daisies with yellow centers.

One Word Sunday – hanging

For Debbie’s challenge:

Hanging

***

Debbie asks us to find photos for the prompt word = hanging. I have a few here.

***

I saw these outside the store one day. Lots of hanging baskets of flowers had purple and yellow ones. I think these are petunias.

***

These red colored geraniums were in a hanging basket. It shows the flowers, leaves, and some background red bricks.

***

Thunder clouds hanging ominously in the sky with raindrops

Icicles hanging from the eaves of the house roof one cold day

***

Two bicycles, one blue one just hanging out on the sidewalk in front of a store, and another is hanging upside down from the rafters inside a reataurant.

***

And finally …

At sunrise one morning I was out there taking photos, when I noticed something hanging from the edge of the roof. Getting closer, I saw the spider. He or she had a nice web, but it didn’t show up, but he/she was enjoying dangling there I guess. In the first photo you can just barely see the spider (a little dot). I thought the reflection in the window of the sunrise was pretty cool, too! 🙂 … This afternoon the spider was still there, so I got a closer photo of him. 🙂
