EDIT 2: (9/9/18) Today's the day folks! With 426 of you submitting lists and counting, the Letterboxd Season Challenge 2018-19 is officially under way! If you happen to join after today, that's perfectly fine, you can start whenever and watch whenever! EDIT: (9/3/18) Welp. Holy shit. I thought I was being generous when I thought this thing could get to 50 participants. But just under a week out from the start of the challenge, there are almost 400 of you wonderful people who have submitted lists! I want to thank everybody for your interest in doing the Letterboxd Season Challenge this year, and I am just as excited to get this thing started as you are!

Hello folks, and welcome to the Letterboxd Season Challenge 2018-19! For those of you unfamiliar with the Letterboxd Season Challenge, its a 33 week long challenge, where the weekly objective is to watch one film from a specified category. And though they are in chronological order, you are free to watch them in any order and to watch them at your leisure (you can watch them all in the first month if you feel so inclined). Start whenever, finish whenever! You are also welcome to watch multiple films per each week/theme if you would like. You can find the weekly challenges by reading the notes of this list.

The idea of this challenge is to push you to check out films you may not have otherwise, or to give you that little kick that's sometimes needed to watch a film you've wanted to see, but just don't have the motivation for.

I want to thank last year's host, kurt k, for allowing me to take the helm on this one. I really enjoyed participating last year and honestly, being able to do it again is a big part of why I wanted this to continue. I've included a lot of new tasks, as well as some familiar favorites from previous Season Challenges.
