I've had this in my Blu-ray collection for the better part of a decade, and a part of me expected to put it up for sale after finally giving it a watch; nope, permanent fixture. A quintessential "have a couple drinks with a friend and talk over the whole movie" movie.
The joy of finally seeing the greatest film of the 21st century on stunning 35mm was dampened somewhat by the Paramount audience’s inability to take a single goddamn thing seriously, but it was extra satisfying to hear everyone go dead silent for the last half hour. I miss him so much
Donald Trump’s name is never uttered in Cuck. His likeness is briefly featured, but the man himself is only ever referred to once, and only in the abstract: “our president”. His presence registers with all the weight of an off-brand “Combover Leader” Halloween mask. Barack Obama gets a similar silent treatment, although he’s at least afforded a freakishly anachronistic “Obummer” epithet. This is what we call a “small victory”.
