I give Terminator Salvation credit for being different than the other sequels and focusing on the future war instead of continuing the time travel formula and for also not destroying the continuity like the soft reboots that would follow. Rewatched 14 Apr 2025

The best part about Rise of the Machines is that it's a much better Terminator 3 than Genisys and Dark Fate. The worst part about it is it's a massive step down from Terminator 1 and 2 and lacks the heart and soul that really made those films special. Still there's a lot of fun scenes here especially the crane truck chase that makes this a fun watch and while the film does undo T2's ending I do like the ballsy ending here that's a real gut punch.
