Unlike his previous work, The Favourite exists less as a thought experiment from an alternate version of the present and more as a plausible piece of historical drama, though it continues Lanthimos’ fascination with human relationships under duress.

Into the Spider-verse succeeds where many other comic book films have failed, to say nothing of other attempts to to bring Spider-Man to the screen.
