(the original list by Benjamin Milot)
Week 3: September 21st-27th
Classic Performers: Sidney Poitier Week

The acting in this by the four family members is utterly outstanding. I can't believe it wasn't nominated for any Academy Awards. This movie is silly and stupid but I love it. Elizabeth Hurley and Brendan Fraser are delightful, they have great chemistry and it looks like they had a lot of fun making this. The rewatch value of this is very high for me because it goes in so many directions. When you look closely you find that the plot doesn't make sense, but it doesn't matter because the fun more than makes up for it. Part guilty pleasure, part I-don't-care-because-Harold-Ramis-is-a-comedy-legend, and part I'm-just-a-huge-Brendan-Fraser-fan.
