When I say they don’t really make films like this anymore I don’t really mean it in a positive or negative way, it’s just that it feels like the kinda film that was constantly being made in the 2000s. And maybe it’s because I haven’t watched a film like this in a while but I really enjoyed it and was invested throughout, the John Williams score was great as you would expect and Emily Blunt gave a fantastic performance but I can also see this being a bit hit or miss for some people.

Personally prefer this to Elvis, I didn’t know much about Priscilla going into it but her story and the insight into their relationship was a lot more interesting to me. Honestly it’s been too long since I saw Elvis to compare Austin Butler and Jacob Elordi’s performances but Cailee Spaeny was brilliant (and stunning) as ever

Yo this was sooo good and shit got tense. John Krasinski, what a guy.
It’s a really cool concept with fantastic performances from the whole cast and the way the sound is used was creative and made the whole experience really immersive. Shit like this makes me wanna watch actually decent horror films rather than the bad ones I normally watch for fun.
Side note: can John Krasinski and Emily Blunt adopt me pls

I know Oscar Isaac is the main focus here and don’t get me wrong I love him and his voice and his beard, but I’d also like to give a special shoutout to Adam Driver for the way he sang the words “outer space” and for meowing back to that goddamn cat. Anyway the soft lighting and sad Oscar Isaac was top quality, as someone who doesn’t care too much for folk music or cats it made me care for both a little more than it should have.
