Weekly Prompts Wednesday Challenge – Wait

When you have to wait can get boring. However it is inevitable at some point you will have to wait. You wait in a line, or a special waiting room, or you wait on a special occasion, or some information.

If the wait gets long, I like to write. I like to write with pen and paper, so take some with me all the time, then when I get bored from waiting I can pull it out and begin to write about … well, anything. I write about the people that are there waiting, too. I write about the way the place looks, or about overheard conversations.

All this makes the waiting time go faster it seems to me.

Here’s a silly poem I wrote one day while waiting at the optometrist’s office waiting room for them to finally call me in.

I always like these ‘trick of the eye’ things, where you can try to see two different images. They are also called optical illusions.

Remember those Magic Eye pictures? Those are fun to see, too.

There are also those strange designs that seem to move when you stare at them. Makes your eyes feel funny with those tricks.

Here is a short exercise – see if you can pick out both images – or maybe you’ll be tricked!

I was going through some of my draft posts from a long time ago, and came across this one.

It was when I was trying to make a video. I still don’t really know what I was doing. Maybe I should do some more practicing with that.

Anyway, there was this bug crawling down the wall, so I taped it. The radio was playing this song at the time, but it’s hard to hear on the video, so I added the music video of the song, too.

Now, I don’t know if you like to see close up videos of bugs crawling around, but here ya go. I thought it was pretty neat. 🙂

So, here we are on the second week of this challenge. There are lots of great songs from the past to choose from, but it’s just one a week we will post. When I’m looking for a song, I seem to find more and more that I like, so I have to stop and listen to them all. Good memories! 🙂

Here’s what I chose for today. It is “Love Is Alive”, by Gary Wright. This was released in 1976, on his album, “Dream Weaver”, which was also the title of another of his songs.

I love the music, especially the bass notes. When this came out, I was expecting my first child, we had an old Chevrolet, 2-door, black over green in color. This song reminds me of all that. 🙂

Well, I can barely stand to tell you this, but I’m a whole week late in posting the SOCS from last Saturday. I had it all ready to go, (the photo and video), then forgot to post it. I wrote a lot about it all…in my head. I thought I’d posted it, but no. So, here I am this weekend, trying to catch up with the ‘sh’ post, and the one from today, ‘bear/bare’ topic prompts.

Bear with me while I ramble a bit.

For the ‘sh’ word sound, it was perfect for last week. I actually had a vanilla shake for lunch. Yay! It was good, too. Later in the week we went to a garden shop here in town, to look at all the pretty Christmas trees they have decorated and on display. Then, the next day after that, I was shivering…I had caught a cold, and was well, cold, and then hot. You know how that is.

Anyway, here’s a photo of my shake, and an old type video of a fun song with the word Shake in the title. 🙂

Here is a photo of one of the Christmas trees we saw, and there is a bear ornament – Winnie the Pooh! Shall this be enough?

For the 2nd day of OctPoWriMo, we were asked to give our thoughts, views, and feelings, about a movie we like, and if possible, include a video clip.

I don’t watch a lot of movies, but did see one recently, that I really liked. It had several themes and undercurrents about family dynamics, and how this group of people managed. Here, then is the official trailer for Ricki and the Flash …Starring the fabulous actress, Meryl Streep  Click on the name of the movie, and watch. You should see the movie, if you haven’t already. It’s really good.

FALLING APART

Don’t freak the freak out, when you call in distress…

You got yourself right into this mess.

Why come to me, singing the blues?

My dears, you didn’t have to choose.

Don’t call and expect a brand new me

To show up and change into what will never be.

You made your decision, and so did I…

You cut with precision, you told me good-bye.

Now you’re falling apart, you want me to fix it…

I followed my heart, but I’m no hypocrite.

My new found love, was my salvation,

But, I’m feeling torn, with obligation.

I love you all, my heart bleeds every day

With tears and regrets…I’ll come, but not stay.

My advice you will hear, but it won’t be a cure…

You’ll work it out, of that I am sure.

My life is elsewhere, it’s crazy and hard,

But, we’ve mended some fences, and that’s our reward.
