Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge – Squish

For Gerry and Sue’s challenge:

Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge – Squish.

***

I never want to squish a bug

Neither do I give a hug

I leave them be or usher them out

And sometimes at them I will shout

Leave me alone you miserable pest

Go away and  let me rest

You’re bugging me way too much

Daring me to squish you, a one – two punch!

Keep it up and you will see

‘Twill be the absolute end of thee

Flower of the Day – Rudbeckia

Not sure, but this orange flower with black center might be a Rudbekia.

Caught this little gray bug hitch hiker hanging out in the center of the pretty orange flower in the garden center place.

Square Odds 2022 – # 5 – “Becky, I’m not Tarzan.”

Amazing what you find in museums

This was not a planned photo. I took it in August of 2021. I happened to look down at a page in my book, to see this long, oval shaped beetle bug with very long antenna. Looks like he was reading the words.

Then I noticed (for today’s oddball) that the sentence right above it’s head said, “Becky, I’m not Tarzan.”

I figured this would be a fun oddball for today’s Square! 🙂

Flower of the Day – Yellow with a Beetle

Flower of the Day – Yellow with a Beetle

***

I saw this yellow flower at my aunt’s house the other day. It’s probably a flowering weed, but still pretty. When looking closer, I saw this little bug or beetle on the stem. It is black with four orange spots on it’s back. I doesn’t look exactly like a ladybug, but similar. It’s not rounded, though. I tried to find what kind of bug it was, but got several suggestion pictures, none were exactly like I was looking for. Some were called Sexton Beetles, Cylinder Leaf Beetle, and Sap Beetles, and Harlequin Beetles. I still don’t know what it is.

To see it closer, you can click the photo.

BUGGIN’ OUT

BUGGIN’ OUT

I was going through some of my draft posts from a long time ago, and came across this one.

It was when I was trying to make a video. I still don’t really know what I was doing. Maybe I should do some more practicing with that.

Anyway, there was this bug crawling down the wall, so I taped it. The radio was playing this song at the time, but it’s hard to hear on the video, so I added the music video of the song, too.

Now, I don’t know if you like to see close up videos of bugs crawling around, but here ya go. I thought it was pretty neat. 🙂

MONTHLY SHAPE ADVENTURE – TEARDROP

This month we were to find things shaped like a teardrop. It wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, so these are somewhat all over the place.

First is an original art piece I made quite a while ago. Next, I tried making these chocolate chip cookies into a teardrop shape. They look weird, but tasted good! 🙂

I like the next one…it was a reflection of something on the pavement in a parking lot. The next one is a bug. I don’t know what kind, but it was on our porch step. It’s kind of teardrop shaped, isn’t it? Last is some tulips, which I think are the right shape.

OUT OF TIME

“I’m just a teeny, tiny bug, and I’m scared.

I managed to avoid being eaten, so far, but time has run out.

I wish I’d never crawled into this gigantic cereal box.”
