And that was silly. But I’ve written posts on toasts (hee hee) quite a few times, and I’m not in the mood to write about toast again. I don’t even like toast any more. I used to. But something happened, and I don’t like the taste of it now. I eat it, but put jelly on it so I can’t taste the terrible toast.

And now breakfast is ready, with toast. Ugh!

Also, I feel like toast this morning. Crummy, or crumbly? I didn’t get mush (much) sleep last night. First, I wasn’t sleepy at my regular time. Then someone around here was popping fireworks. They always sound like right by my bedroom window, but really the house behind ours I think.

Then, I’m pretty sure we have another mouse in the house. I have a dresser with drawers right by where I sleep. The drawers are all empty now, since the last  mouse set up housekeeping there. And now, but is long gone away. Now a relative of his has moved in I think. So noisy! I hear scritching, and scratching and thumping in there. I bang on the dresser to make him be quiet, but then it starts again.

Then, we start having a huge and loud thunderstorm. House rattling thunder, lightning that was continuous for over an hour, and pouring rain. I had to get up. I couldn’t sleep in all that noise. So I was up for like 3 hours, playing computer games, having snack and watching the lightning. Finally about 1:30 or so I try to go back to sleep in the bedroom, and I guess I managed to. But then we always get up by 4 a.m.  … Yeah, I feel like toast today. 🙂

Today is the final day of this Love Is In Da Blog 2024 challenge. We have found all kinds of great songs, singers, songwriters, bands, musicians, and talented entertainers. We’ve learned some things about the songs, and tapped our toes and bopped our heads to these. They took us through all kinds of emotions too, from happy to sad, to silly, and everything in between. But most of all there was love.

There was love expressed in the lyrics of the songs, in the music that gave us chills or thrills, and love of the artists who through their hard work and talent for their love of music that came shining through.

I want to thank our hosts, Bee and Jim for their continued work and support throughout this month. I want to thank all the ones who came to listen and leave your likes and comments. You are all appreciated.

I found this song and like it a lot. It’s called ‘Toast”, and is by a Jamaican singer, songwriter, rapper and guitarist. She is singing of giving thanks for all her blessings in life, and expressing her gratitude. Could be the title, “Toast”, is like giving a toast to life.

I looked back to see if I’d written anything about toast before, and came up with these two: The first is from my dream folder thing here. I type any dream I remember so I don’t forget. I also have many, many notebooks filled with dreams I’ve had.

A dream – funny one

As a family we were at a restaurant of some sort, kinda fancy. I’d ordered breakfast, with French toast. I was eating it, and it was so good. Nice thick slices, sweet, too.

then the waiter comes to give the bill. It was way more than we expected, so we asked why. It seems it was the French toast that cost so much.

I told the waiter I only had one slice, and he gave me an astonished look. He said it was 6 slices, but they were all stuck together to make it look thick like Texas Toast! That was news to me. I started inspecting it closely and sure enough there were 6 thin slices of bread stuck together.

Anyway, I woke up and started laughing in the middle of the night. hahaha 🙂

Now, this is a true story that happened when we lived in Japan.

I did catch the stove in our government housing afire. I forgot the cinnamon toast in the broiler, and it went up in flames. I called the fire department, who came with sirens and lights. The whole neighborhood came out to watch. Our stove was toast! Kaput! There was a write up in the newspaper about it, later, and was a bit embarrassing that my lack of focus concerning bread in the oven (a bad habit of mine) had caused such a commotion.

I like all kinds of toast, and toasted different ways, too. I’m sure I could write lots more, but this is getting long so I’ll stop. I do plan on having Texas toast with my barbeque lunch today!
