This song is one of my favorites for a long time since I first heard it. I think it is a love song because the lyrics are about someone who is enjoying one last romantic night with his love, before he has to go away. It never says where he has to go away to, though. It could be for any number of reasons. I guess I relate to that because being a military wife I had to see my husband go off to serve in the Army many times.

Go on and close the curtains
‘Cause all we need is candlelight
You and me, and a bottle of wine
To hold you tonight (oh)Well we know I’m going away
And how I wish – I wish it weren’t so
So take this wine and drink with me
And let’s delay our miserySave tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be gone
Save tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be goneThere’s a log on the fire
And it burns like me for you
Tomorrow comes with one desire
To take me away (ohh it’s true)It ain’t easy to say good-bye
Darlin’ please, don’t start to cry
‘Cause girl you know I’ve got to go (oh)
And Lord I wish it wasn’t soSave tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be gone
Save tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be goneTomorrow comes to take me away
I wish that I, that I could stay
But girl you know I’ve got to go (oh)
And Lord I wish it wasn’t soSave tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be gone
Save tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be gone
Save tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be gone
Save tonight and fight the break of dawn
Come tomorrow – tomorrow I’ll be goneTomorrow I’ll be gone
Tomorrow I’ll be gone
Tomorrow I’ll be gone
Tomorrow I’ll be goneSave tonight
Save tonight
Save tonight
Save tonight
Oh that’s right
Save tonight
Save tonight

For this week’s challenge, I’m also featuring the song, “Good Morning Starshine”. It’s one of my favorite songs to sing along too, I think because it is such a happy song.

From a Wiki Article:
This song was sung by William Oliver Swofford (1945-2000). He was an American pop singer, better known for only his middle name, Oliver. “Good Morning Starshine” was released in 1969, on the label Jubilee, and written by James Rado, Gerome Ragni, & Galt MacDermot. The song was heard in the musical “Hair”.

Good morning starshine
The earth says hello
You twinkle above us
We twinkle below
Good morning starshine
You lead us along
My love and me as we singing
Our early morning singing song
Gliddy glub gloopy, nibby nabby noopy la, la, la, lo, lo
Sabba sibby sabba, nooby abba nabba, le, le, lo, lo
Tooby ooby walla, nooby abba naba
Early morning singing song
Good morning starshine
There's nothing in the skies
We met in the sunlight
And my lovers eyes
Good morning starshine
So happy to be
My love and me as we singing
Our early morning singing song
Gliddy glub gloopy, nibby nabby noopy la, la, la, lo, lo
Sabba sibby sabba, nooby abba nabba, le, le, lo, lo
Tooby ooby walla, nooby abba naba
Early morning singing song
Can you hear me singing a song, a love song
Singing a song
Loving a song, laughing a song
Singing a song
Sing the song, song sing, song, song, song, singing
Sing, sing, sing a song
Song, song, song sing, sing, sing, sing a song
Sing, sing, song, sing a song
Yeah, you can sing, sing, sing song, sing a song
Sing, sing, song, sing a song, sing
