5.   How many presidents of the USA died on July 4th? … I don’t know, and I don’t care.

6.   What does Pinocchio mean in Italian? … It means Pizza is served, come and get it.

7.   What are the six official languages of the UN? … Baby Talk, Tarzan Yell, Dog Barks, Cat Meows, Bird Tweets, and  the Retro dialects, such as Hippie speak, Flapper speak, Old School speak, and Space talk lingo.

8.   What city was Italy’s first capital? … It was where a fresh spring water well was, and they called it Fountainia.

9.   What does an average human head weigh? … According to mortitians, a human head’s weight depends on how many brains it holds, some weigh a lot, but some not so much. On an average about one pound.

10. Who was Spencer Perceval? … He was the person who started the crazy hobby of collecting novelty salt and pepper shakers, also known as S & P.

3. What is a jerry can? … Before the modern toilet was invented, people used a tin bucket called a jerry can.

4. What is a beaker? … This is a carnival worker hollering to lure people into playing a game of chance

5. What is a photofit? … Oops! When a person gets really angry they are said to throw a photofit.

6. What is meant by pluck? … Pluck means to stir your soup with a spoon until it cools off.

7. What is a cat nap? … This is a party napkin that comes in many different themes printed on the paper.

8. Where will you find a winder? … You’ll find a winder in the desert – it’s used for both a sidewinder snake or a dust devil twister.

9. What is a crosshair? … This is a piece of your hair that just won’t stay put – a cowlick if you want another word for it.

10. What is an effigy? … What you say when you are served a figgy pudding and you hate figgy pudding!

6.  What is marzipan? … This is gold nuggets mined from the planet Mars.

 

7.  What is Egg Nog?  .. This is when naughty kids throw raw eggs at houses and stores for fun.

 

8.  Why is there a fairy on the top of the Christmas Tree (be polite!) … Because the little fairy was trying to get away from the cat who was climbing up the branches of the tree.

 

9.  What are baubles? … These are European soap bubbles – they spell it funny.

1. Sonder … A tool for smoothing out wood pieces.

2. Opia … One of the colors in the crayon box – it’s light brown.

3. Monachopsis … It’s when you only have one chopstick to eat with because you dropped the other on the floor.

4. Énouement … New or Now – it’s a classification of a word.

5. Vellichor … This is a pretty type of writing paper used in the olden days – stationery of the Egyptians.

6. Rubatosis … This is what everyone does when they hurt their toe – they rub it.

7. Kenopsia … This is the backstory biography of the doll named Ken – Barbie’s boyfriend.

8. Liberosis  … A mental disorder where you are obsessed with checking out books from the library.

9. Jouska … In the days of Knights in armor, they did jousting, with an intermission of doing a little dance.

Fibbing Friday 4th October

1. What is a paddywhack?  … This is the police van they haul prisoners around in, a paddy wagon. They also have the bloodounds in there if they are needed to chase down a criminal, so the lawmen can whack them.

2. What is a goujon? … I don’t know how to pronounce this, because it is French, I think, and it means fancy mustard.

3. What is a bichon frise?  .. Awww this is sadly what happens to the bison (buffaloes) in the winter snow storms. They freeze.

4. What is a botanist? … This is a scientist who creates robots.

5. What is meant by jocular? … This is one of your back teeth, a large one you chew with.

6. What is a reamer?  … This is a special type of notebook paper used by students in grade school. It has large spaced lines.

What happened to # 7 ??? Very weird!!! when I copied these all in one go, # 7 did not show up. Now I found it.

7. What is couscous?7. What is couscous? … This is what is called sleeping. You are unconscious at the time.

Now it posted it twice!!

8. What does it mean to chortle? … This is what you do out in the garden plot, you chop up the weeds while laughing maniacally.

9. What is a niblick? … This is the fun kind of candy where kids lick a sugar stick and dip it into some fruit flavored powder.

10. What is lancing? … This is an old skill game that knights in armor played, by poking each other with long pointed sticks.

1.    Merry-go-sorry … This is a good luck phrase to say when you see a worm on a flower stem as it waves in the breeze.

2.    Momist … When the produce manager at the supermarket wants more mist to freshen up the vegetables with the misting machine, he hollers, ‘Mo mist!”.

3.    Obfuscate … Oops! You just fell down while skating at the roller rink.

4.    Obnubilate … You do this when you taste test the spaghetti noodles to see if they are ready.

5.    Peacockize … I used to love doing this when writing in class. I used a real ink pen with Peacock blue ink cartridges.

6.    Sillytonian … Some singers use this machine on their microphones to autotune the sound of their voice. It usually sounds silly.

7.   Slug-a-bed … Back in the old days, they had to take the mattresses outside and beat out all the dirt and bugs with a bat.

8.   Snout-fair …This is a hog breeder’s exhibition.

9.   Teen … When you hear the bells ring in the square of the town, you know it is teen time. One bell tone for black, two bells for cream and sugar. Cookies/biscuits if wanted, also.

10.  Wasteheart … Some artists are really good at creating with the contents of waste paper bins and trash cans.

11.  Whiffler … In golf, or baseball, when you swing at the ball but miss it.

Some real silliness this week inspired by song lyrics, daft thoughts that entered my head and fill ins from the internet.

1. What is a ‘da doo ron ron’? … This is slang for when you and your girlfriend/or boyfriend goes sneaking off down the country lane.

2. What is meant by ‘de do do do, de dah dah dah’? … This series of sounds mean you are marching in an Army formation.

3. What is a Rock a doodle do? … This is an old style hair do for men where he has a duck tail in back and a spiked topknot.

4. How would you define the word PRICKLE?  .. Prickle is that sticky candy with peanuts – it’s brittle, too.  .

5. What is an airhead? … This is a part in the engine of a car. I think it regulates the air or something.

6. What is Mahna Mahna? …Okay I know this, it was in the news lately. It’s that alien spacecraft they found flying over Hawaii. The UfO was shaped like a lumpy cigar.

7. What is a rockin’ robin? … We used to do these with our pen pal friends. It’s a letter you add comments to, then pass it on to another pen friend.

8. What is a hoecake? … This is when city people try to be countrified, and hold a barn dance with square dancing and cake walks.

9. Why did Tiny Tim ‘Tiptoe Through The Tulips?’ … He tiptoed because he wanted to make a quick get-away.

10. Why isn’t it easy being green? … You don’t want to be green, because people think you are ill. They give all kinds of unwanted advice to make you feel better, but it does the opposite hearing all their sickness stories.

Familiar or maybe not so familiar phrases this week.
What are your interpretations for these?

1. “A few sandwiches short of a picnic” … This is what Yogi Bears says when he looks into the Forest Ranger’s pic-a-nik basket.

2. “Bagsy” … The one name of the famous artist who sculpts figures out of trash bags.

3. “Bog-standard” … This is just a routine archeologist’s discovery of the Peat Bog Man that’s mummified.

4. “Budge up” … This is just a cute little budgie parakeet you are raising and trying to get it to talk.

5. “Chinwag” … This is a slang word for a goat.

6. “Faff” … This is the foam on top of beer that is poured into a glass.

7. “Full Monty” … This is the highest level of rank in the RCMP – a full Mounty.

8. “Give me a tinkle on the blower” … This would be a request to play a tune on the pipe organ.

9. “On it like a car bonnet” … This is a funny idiom in southern areas, meaning they are ordering a fajita carbon. I’ve had them and they are good.

10. “Tickety-boo” … A ritual dance by shouting and raising their tiki torches up to the evening sky.
