The image in the photo just appeared on my computer monitor awhile back. (maybe 2017) It looks like a dog to me, so that’s what I call it…my Ghost Dog. … I don’t know, exactly when it came, but it is always there. It doesn’t matter how many times I clean the screen, it is still there. Anyway, I thought I’d ask it some questions, just to see what comes into my mind. These words are the result.

CMMC – November Alphabet “R” at the end of a word

Theater – the Cactus Theater marquee and a man on a ladder putting the letters on there saying who will be appearing soon. This is a very old movie theater, but now is used mostly as a venue for music concerts and theater plays.

***

This is my very own computer corner (yay 2 letter Rs) It’s in the living room. My computer desk, chair, shelf, calendar, edge of our entertainment center shelves, and my cross collection on the wall. Lots of ending in R words here.

My painted rock of a spider. The rock is yellow, the painted spider is black with a clear jewel in its middle. Background is aqua with spider (the word) and some spider stickers.

Orange & brown paper sack & a plastic table marker # 73 from Whataburger – They gave us this table marker for celebrating their store’s 73rd year in business. It’s our favorite place to get a hamburger, and it’s only around the block from our house. In fact I can pretty much see it out the back door.

haha I just noticed it’s the same age as me!

Cee’s On the Hunt For Joy Challenge – Knoll your desk

On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Week 21 – Knoll your desk

According to a short quote on Cee’s blog, ‘knoll’ means to line up everything on your desk all nice and tidy each day. Well, I don’t do that at all. I seem to do best in a messy situation.

Cee says we are to show a picture of our desk or workspace. Does this bring me joy? I suppose it does, as I spend most all of every day here. It’s messy, but it’s  mine. 🙂

Here’s a few things that are within reach.

  • Last year’s cat calendar & Peace sign ornament
  • Small bamboo shelf with toy animals on it (and small 2020 calendar)
  • Wall of crosses of all kinds I got at yard sales
  • Computer monitor
  • Spiral notebook & pen
  • More computer stuff & earbuds
  • Messy stuff (pen, pencil, sticky note pad, chapsticks, pencil sharpener, clock)
  • Computer mouse and pad (cats)
  • keyboard is below all this

The first thing I see in the early mornings when I come to the computer is the blue lights on these black computer what-cha-ma-call-its. I have no idea what it’s for, but if one of them goes out, it means my computer won’t come on. Disaster! haha!

The one blue light to the right is for the speaker.

Then I open up my blog home page, and it is a blue background picture. It has an eye and a butterfly. I like it, and haven’t changed it in years. The first one I had was pink and black. I didn’t have that one very long.

I don’t have much that is blue right here that I see. Sometimes my little post it notes pad is blue, but sometimes it’s another color.

I have a real blue jay’s feather higher up in a little wall basket. We found it in the yard.

There are my cross collection hanging on the wall in front of my desk. Some of those have blue in them.

That’s about it.

A Favorite Christmas Movie

I like a lot of Christmas themed movies, and this is one of my favorites. It’s called, “Desk Set”, and was released in 1957. It stars Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn.

It is a romantic comedy set mainly in an office, where a cutting edge, newfangled machine has been introduced to the office workers. It’s a computer that in it’s early days takes up half a wall, it is so big.

It is also time for the office’s Christmas party, where everyone takes part in all the drama, the gossip, and the fun and laughter.

This is a fun movie to watch.

MY JANUARY 1ST SO FAR

Here’s how my first day of January of the new year of 2017 has started out…and it’s not quite noon here.

Sniffling through the 3rd cold I’ve had lately, with all the yucky symptoms.

Sleepy and exhausted from all the symptoms.

Spent some time staring at my fingernails. I need to re-paint them, as the manicure I got over Christmas has bit the dust.

Hit the wrong button on phone, which posted a bunch of photos accidentally, then had to fix that by trashing it all.

Broke computer yesterday. Got frustrated that the thing freezes up so much, so I kept punching the on/off switch until it completely broke apart. Just lucky I can still use it, by finagling another way.

Got some of my posts drafted yesterday, so not much work to do on them today. Yay!

It’s 55 and sunny outside, so that’s nice.

Got all new calendars put up …kittens in the kitchen, birds in a bedroom, fairy houses in bathroom, and my favorite is right in front of me at my desk here. It’s a Lisa Frank artwork calendar, and is so cute! 🙂 See…here it is!

Anyway, hope the rest of the day goes along ok.

I need to get some black-eyed peas to eat, though, as it is a new year’s tradition here. Not sure why, but maybe for luck in the year to come?
