A 2 Z – 2026 – Bunch of B

Last night I dreamed of bats circling around up in the sky. I don’t know why, but it might have been for a little conversation I had with a friend blogger about seeing buzzards at her place (thanks Vero!). Anyway, I did see buzzards one time here, lazily making circles in the sky. There must have been 20 or 30 of them. I tried taking a photo (see below) but they were far away and kind of blurry. So … Blurry Buzzards

Then still thinking of Bats, I don’t usually see them, but a couple of times I have. We lived in a place where every evening about sunset, I’d be looking out the back door to the place across the way, and out of their roof vents (?) would come a bunch of bats flying out.

Another time at another place we had a shared laundry room in a separate area. One neighbor came to alert all the residents that there was something making a racket in one of the washing machines. So we all went over to see. One lady was brave enough to put on gloves and look inside. There was a bat in there and couldn’t get out. (the washer was empty and not running). So she reached in and got him and let him fly free.

Bird Weekly – Flocks

Bird Weekly – Photo Challenge – Flocks of Birds

***

We have flocks of birds here at different times. Sometimes it’s a flock of grackles being all noisy in the back yard or the trees. Sometimes there are flocks of doves, all trying to eat the cat food on the porches. But the biggest flocks are the Canada Geese that come flying in in the autumn. They are in the thousands, and land on the little lake by our house, staying all winter. They are very noisy, too.

  • Lots of Canada Geese at a local lake
  • Wild turkeys at a friend’s place
  • Canada geese flock flying over
  • Lots more Canada geese flying over
  • Even more Canada geese flying over
  • A flock of buzzards flying high

Look what we saw yesterday – Buzzards flying high in the sky! There were so many of them just soaring on the wind currents. We estimated there to be at least 25 to 30 or more in the flock, more than I’ve ever seen before. Wish they had been closer, but they circled around and around for quite awhile before moving on.

The other day my daughter and grand-daughter came by for a little bit. So good to see them in person again. My little grand-daughter told me she had an imaginary horse named Zizzy. We had to go down the driveway to give Zizzy a bath, with the water hose, shampoo, and then comb out his mane and tail with the brush. That was fun. 🙂

And this morning for breakfast we had bacon and sausage. This photo is when they were sizzling in the pan.
