These light and dark pink buds are on a Christmas Cactus flowering plant. The leaves are fairly thick and have spiky edges.

Flower of the Day – Charmelia

Charmelia is the brand name of this little flower. I read that it is also fairly brand new, being introduced in 2014, and is a relative of the Peruvian Lily. I think these are the buds, that will bloom into pretty pink flowers. Right now they are green and closed.

It’s always interesting to see the different kinds of buds flowers and plants have. Here are three … they are different sizes, but mostly round and green, except the purple Orchid ones, which are pink.

Flower of the Day – Zygo Cactus

Here’s a few pots of Zygo Cactus, which have dark green spiky leaves, and white buds and a blooming flower, which is pale pink. I read that it is similar to the Christmas Cactus, but this kind blooms in November so is sometimes called the Thanksgiving Cactus.

Deep pink blooms on these unknown flowers, with green accented buds. Does anyone have a name for this one? Maybe I’ll just call her Nina Natasha Noname. 🙂
