Flower of the Day – Zygo Cactus

Flower of the Day – Zygo Cactus

***

Here’s a few pots of Zygo Cactus, which have dark green spiky leaves, and white buds and a blooming flower, which is pale pink. I read that it is similar to the Christmas Cactus, but this kind blooms in November so is sometimes called the Thanksgiving Cactus.

CFFC – Spring/Wood

Here are the photos of wood and spring that I posted for this challenge back in 2017. 🙂

This time we were to find photos of signs of Spring, and also anything wood. Here we have tree branches, trunks, and bark. We also have Spring buds on the tree, and pretty blossoms. Spring also means those pretty yellow flowers known as dandelions. Then we have racks of seed packets. I love looking at all the varieties of seeds for fruits, vegetables, and flowers that can be planted in the spring. Wish I had a green thumb and could grow some. I try. 🙂

And for Cees Fun Foto Challenge of last week – Winter/water

***

We do have winter weather here. We get below freezing temperatures, sleet, snow, and ice storms. I don’t like winter at all.

I couldn’t really find any water photos, but all this snow and ice is frozen water, isn’t it! 🙂

Today, we were asked to find photos of winter. Here are a couple of B & W ones from our front and back yard, when I was a kid. That tree is still standing, and has seen many winters. Icicles from off the back of the house roof…always cool to see, and a snowman my kids and I made one year in the same front yard I grew up playing in. 🙂

Trees covered in thick ice, and birds on the snowy branches of another tree. These are recent photos of our tree and neighbor’s tree.
