November Squares – Plane Shadows

I think this is the kind of plane described below. I took this photo when we visited the Silent Wings Museum here. So many interesting things to see and learn about in the museum, plus several outdoor displays like this plane and others. It was a nice sunny day, so it left a good shadow of it’s shape on the ground.

This aircraft? It is a Douglas C-47 Skytrain, a military variant of the DC-3 Airliner. It was an aircraft used to tow gliders during WWII. The museum is dedicated to the CG-4A gliders, hence the “silent wings”.
