The Frederick

The ask was boutique coastal living. The harder question was what that could mean for residents who choose where they live the same way they choose everything else — carefully. Mid-century modernism gave us our answer: long horizontal lines, sun-soaked geometry, and the honest expression of material that defined an era of confident design. We looked back not as homage, but as a genuine investigation into what that optimism looks and feels like on the Gold Coast today.

We let mid-century principles do the work. The façade works with long horizontal lines and sun-soaked geometry, balconies sculpted to catch light and frame ocean views while shielding residents from the western glare of the Gold Coast Highway. The building is articulated to soften its presence at street level, improving visual connectivity toward the water as you move through Nobby's village.

Inside, YSG Studio brought the same rigour to the interiors: bold, textured spaces where every finish and material speaks to the coastal setting without defaulting to it. Above the street, the rooftop draws the building's logic to its natural conclusion — pool, spa, sauna, fire pit, dining and workspace amenities offering residents a quieter rhythm above the energy of one of the Gold Coast's most connected addresses.
