VISION
Our client wanted a residence that felt like an extension of the beach itself, where the architecture didn't just sit beside the sand dunes but seemed to be a continuation of them. The brief called for spaces where every square metre earned its place, with no room for excess. We looked to the dunes for our answer. Their fluid, wind-carved forms became the blueprint for a facade wrapped in timber battens that shift and refract light like sand in motion. The scale feels familiar too, echoing the modest six-storey beachside blocks that defined Miami's surf culture in the 70s and 80s.
SOLUTION
We worked the floor plan hard, wringing out every bit of usable space without compromise. Full-height windows dissolve the boundary between inside and out, while the pared-back material palette keeps the focus on the landscape. The timber battens do more than look good: they filter harsh sun, create privacy, and give the building a rhythm that changes throughout the day. Up on the rooftop, we created space for gathering around a pool and dining area. Ground floor showers nod to the surf culture that still runs through this stretch of coast.
This is the kind of thinking we bring to every project. Get in touch and let’s talk about what you’re planning.
