Ram’s horn snail – Poem by Jan Gosen

‘Greetings to you tiny ram’s horn snail,

You know of my life, but its of no avail

You swim in the waters while I cannot

You are self-contained, which I forgot

You can’t understand the life I live

But nevertheless I wish you ‘d give

Some of your carefree equilibrium

That I need for my continuum.’

Waste – Poem by Jan Gosen

uitdagende kikker

The dead frog who is lying by the site of the road

Met his sad end by trying to catch a ride

Had he known what kinds of dangers abode

He would have stayed safe inside his hide.

It is similar with the lives of man

Who twist and turn and jump the fence

Who know not what to appreciate, hence:

The wise one is he who remains untouched again.

A turning away – by Jan Gosen

Catching fish from out of the pond

Is such a sad affair for the fish

They live and die and go beyond

As they form the basis for our dish

Creatures from a world uncommon and strange

Grasp the attention of those cleverly watching

Longing to understand their wide range

They eagerly take their pride in the catching.

When the essence & The grass turned green – Poems by Jan Gosen

When the essence of religion is finally understood

It will be integrated in the heart of humanity

And its outward appearances may all be scattered in the wind.

The grass turned green with envy

as it saw the clouds passing by

so graciously.
