It has been some time now since I have had a right thigh. I would quite like it back please. Yes, I know it's still there, but only because my lower leg and foot persist in following me around - the numbness is really rather wearing.
And while we're at it, why is it that you've decided to smite my left thigh when I sit up, then my right one when I lie down. Don't you think that's just being mean?
Really, I would like both of them back, with feeling in them.
Many moons ago...dunno when...I went to the doc about my back. After some weeks, I got a referral to the back clinic...who, after some weeks, gave me an apointment to see a physiotherapist. I saw her every few weeks for a bit, then got referred onto a spinal stability class...after around a month, I got a place on that and have been merrily going along for the past 9 weeks.
Now I've had another physio assesment, and have been...referred! I'm on a waiting list (2+ months long) to see BPAC clinic, who will then give me a triage session...and....REFER me to wherever they think best! (An MRI, possibly, says my Physio, who thinks I have a disc problem...) and once I've been assessed and scanned and they think they know what's what...I'll be...REFERRED.
This is why NHS waiting lists are getting shorter, because there are MORE waiting lists for different things. It bites, but there we go. The wheels are slowly turning.
I'm getting physio on the NHS. Woot. I had to wait a week to get to see a doctor (not MY doctor...just a random), who then referred me to the hozza...who took about two weeks to get in touch with me, then another week to wait for an appointment...then about one appointment every 2 weeks for 3 or 4 goes, then a referral to a back clinic...which took a month and a bit to have room for me. In a class of ten people...a ten week course. There have NEVER been more than 5 people in this class. Which means that 5 people fail to show up every week. Today THREE of us made it. Me, who's never missed a class, another woman, who's never missed a class, and a new person.
After waiting THAT LONG you'd think people could turn up to the class. There are others DESPERATE to get on it. And although it's in the daytime..well, 4pm, you could CHOOSE which class time you attended.
I just can't believe it.
But it made for a good class for us, because we could use whichever station we wanted and the two physios, Liz and Fab, had loads of time for us. They reckon that post-Canada they'll call me back for my assesment visit and try to think of other things to do for me, as whilst spinal stability classes have helped me, they're not like a miracle cure or anything, and Fab reckons I've got a disc problem.
But I still can't believe it.
