Harris: “climate anxiety” is causing people to consider “whether it makes sense for you to even think about having children”

Depopulation-obsessed US vice president, Kamala Harris: “Climate anxiety” is causing people to reconsider whether it makes sense to have children, or buy a home. The same Kamala Harris who said: “When we invest in clean energy and electric vehicles, and reduce population, more of our children can breathe clean air and drink clean water.”

Harris is out on the stump touring the colleges spinning her Marxist ideology. One would have to try hard to find an administration that has done more to effect the quality of life for young people than this one. This obsession with the climate has attempted to instill an almost psychotic level of anxiety within people, discounting any level of objective reality.

Maria Bartiromo, ‘Fox & Friends First’  discuss V.P. Kamala Harris saying ‘climate anxiety’ deters young people from having kids and buying homes.

Vice President Kamala Harris visited Berks County last week to celebrate National Voter Registration Day alongside students at Reading Area Community College.

Here’s the real source of that “anxiety”.

Kamala Harris Our New Car Czar Perplexed By Electric Vehicle

Kamala Harris wonders how the electric car charges because there is no guzzling sound or fumes when plugged in. Well Kamala, it doesn’t make a guzzling sound like the old electricity did.

Harris asks “How do I know it’s charging?”   Well, there is the old water test.

Gee Wiz Mr. Science, plugging something into an electrical outlet is nothing like filling it up with gas!!

Now you just stand there holding the plug, just like that, for a few more hours.

Teachers Union Prez Randi Weingarten Melt Down and Our Kids

by Mustang

If anyone wonders about whatever happened to the America they were born into, they don’t have to look any further into our public school classrooms.  To be clear, many things are happening inside our public schools, but education isn’t one of them.  And should you ask yourself why parents — the people who are paying for this abomination — aren’t complaining, it is because they, too, are products of this disgrace. Just this week we got a look at the Head of the National Teachers Union and her view of the problem.

“National teachers’ union boss Randi Weingarten channeled Howard Dean in a maniacal speech on the steps of the Supreme Court on Tuesday that went viral among critics who labeled it a “meltdown.” Free money. Student debt”

“This is what really pisses me off,” the former president of New York City’s United Federation of Teachers screamed.

Perhaps this might be one too?

Education as a Battleground | Imprimis

Hillsdale’s president is Larry Arnn and claims the problem with the American education system is reflected in the chart above.  Depicted are the growth in students, increase in teachers and growth in administrators.  I’m not saying he’s wrong, but that isn’t American education’s only problem.  If anything, it’s only the tip of the iceberg.

I want to talk about the problems, but instead of laying those out for your consideration, I think I’d rather tell you what I think needs to happen to fix those problems.  Of course, you may disagree with my point of view, but at least you’ll be thinking about the problem — and that would be a nice change.

Step One: disband the U.S. Department of Education.  The federal government has no business involving itself in educating our young people.  Education belongs to the states.  But beyond that, everyone working at U.S.D.O.E. has an advanced degree in Education.  This makes them “educationalists.”

We should not confuse this with “educator.”  For these people to receive their post-graduate degree, they must develop a new idea in their field of study.  One may recall such disasters as “new math” and “Ebonics” or using geography to brainwash our children with lies and half-truths about Islam.  We don’t need any more “good ideas.”

Step Two: we must acknowledge that money is a limited resource.  Nationally, our demand for money exceeds its availability — so to get around this “limited resource problem,” the people responsible for education either increase taxation to support additional spending or borrow money to pay for new schools, unqualified teachers, educationalist administrators, and textbooks that are full of lies.

By the way, the average cost of building a school campus in the United States is $21 million.  I do not know what the annual maintenance costs are.  But there are presently 98,000 (or so) public school campuses in the United States.  By estimating all ancillary education costs in a single school year, the American taxpayer is spending an excess of $2.058 trillion.

Now given that the average high school graduate is unqualified for an entry-level minimum wage job, and after factoring in the number of college-bound students who must first take remedial classes before earning any college credits, one must ask this question: is America getting its money’s worth?

If education was working in this country, given its 1.8 million classroom teachers, why is the overall dropout rate around 20%?  If 80% of America’s high school students graduate, why are they unqualified for most entry-level positions in America’s workforce?

Is the American education system working?  Why did you send your children to a public school if you think the answer is no?  Why are your grandchildren there now?  Why would you place something as important as education into the hands of a government that has not once demonstrated any competency in designing or managing it?

By the way, what do you see when you pass by an elementary, middle, or high school?  Here is what I see — and what most students see- brick buildings inside fenced-in areas with locked entries and armed police officers standing at the gate.  The only difference between school campuses and American prisons is the absence of concertina wire running along the top of the fences and guard towers at each corner of the property.

These young people — your children — are “incarcerated” until they reach a certain age.  With that in mind, from their first year of middle school, how interested are these “children” in learning their lessons?  We know the answer to this question from 12 years of public education’s brainwashing mechanisms — over the past 100 years.

The government shut down the country for a while due to its concerns about COVID.  This brainless act should be enough to convince even the most doubting Thomas that the government cannot be trusted with anything “vital” to the interests of the United States.  What were the children thinking while we locked them up inside their homes?  Beyond surges in electronic media usage, not much.

We should have been thinking this: are there viable alternatives to expensive “this is the way we’ve always done it” educational systems?  Some would argue that no matter what we try, as an alternative, it couldn’t possibly be worse than what we have now.  Given our technology, should distance learning be on the table?  Small learning centers could replace large school campuses within the local neighborhood to accommodate very small children and those older kids whose parents do not have access to computers or internet connections.

What we have now is this: a one-size-fits-all system that only meets the needs of a few students.  A very few.  Sure, there is an essential skill set that all students need to have: reading/comprehension ability, written communications, essential mathematics, and basic science — but the problem is that no one is asking our youngsters what they want to do with their lives.  It is their life, after all.  Shouldn’t we wonder what excites their interests?

Academic cheating is endemic in this country.  Why is that?  Because students have no genuine interest in the things they’re taught, they resort to cheating to “get by.”  Now, if this is true (and it is), given the money we’re spending on this dead horse we call public education, should anyone be asking what we can do about it?

We could start by having a conversation about this.  No, not here in the blogosphere — but within our communities where conversations count.  It will be a difficult conversation, and there will be plenty of varying opinions — and a few angry “football fathers” and “cheerleading moms.”  But — ignoring the problem is not an option.

Education and Politics – What Do They Have in Common?

by Mustang

Public education in the United States is terrible.  How bad?  Really bad — and everyone knows it.  Despite spending $640 billion annually on public education, the United States produces the highest number of low-education citizens in the industrialized world.  That’s somewhat like spending $304,995 for an Aston Martin DBS and having the power train fall out an hour after driving it off the lot.

Most people fail to understand that a high school diploma simply means that the graduate is, at best, qualified for a minimum wage job.  It not only means that high school graduates begin their working lives at the bottom of the economic ladder, but also that unless they strive to increase their level of education, that’s where they will remain for their entire working life.

Classroom in Fort Christmas

So, the question is, considering how much we spend educating our children, why aren’t our schools doing a better job educating our children?  There are many reasons — and none of them make us happy.  So, as 62.5% of us are low-education citizens, we ignore the problem.  But if you happened to answer the question, “Because it benefits politicians to have low-educated voters,” you get a cigar.

According to a recent study published by the University of California (Riverside), low-education voters overwhelmingly embrace costly social welfare programs that ultimately work against their own short-and-long-term interests.  Low-education voters are five times more likely to support politicians who achieve elective office by appealing to issues of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, social justice, and/or entitlement.

It’s probably a no-brainer to add that the more education one has, the more likely one is to vote responsibly — which is to say, not allowing themselves fooled by identity politics into voting against their own interests.  For example, a low-education voter doesn’t understand that by supporting an increase in the minimum wage, they also back increases in the cost of goods and services so that the minimum wage worker loses purchasing power.

In other words, they become financially worse off.  Today, the minimum wage worker has lost 21% of their purchasing power — but they’re too stupid to realize it.  Low-education voters are also less likely to realize that politicians are manipulating them (for the politician’s own benefit).  Not only that, no matter how dire their financial circumstances, low-education voters will continue supporting the race-baiters and gender warriors for most of their adult lives.

The preceding goes a long way to explain why politicians, particularly Democrats, see nothing wrong with maintaining the American education system as it now stands.  By “politicians,” I mean to say local (town council/school board), state, and federal representatives.

America’s education system demands a significant housecleaning, but before that can happen, voters need to martial their resources and clean the political landscape as well.  Is that likely to happen?  Not when 90% of registered voters cannot even name their school board representatives or those they voted for in the last statewide election.

Ah, those low-education voters.  They’re the gift that keeps on giving.

NBC: Force Kids to Put On Double Masks

“They’re “very snug” and “not a lot of air…getting in” – yes, let’s deprive our kids of oxygen. Surgical masks are worthless in offering any protection as you will see in the demonstration. Paging Dr. Fauci.

NBC News suggested Tuesday that kids should double mask as students return to school after winter vacation and the country grapples with the rise of the omicron coronavirus variant.

“I actually just sent my kids out the door, minutes ago, with two masks,” NBC investigative and consumer correspondent Vicky Nguyen said on “Today.”

Now a consumer correspondent is getting into the act in an attempt to ramp up hysteria.

There is Zero way a child should/could tolerate an N95. KN signifies that they are made in China. Don’t you think it is interesting that those cargo containers from China with their masks make it to our shores? We can’t ramp up for N95’s here?

Bonus time: If you are having problems finding a Covid Testing place, this fine lady has an interesting method of home testing.

KN designates they were made in China.

But how are N95 masks different from KN95 masks? The main difference lies in how the masks are certified. “In general,” says Sean Kelly, founder of New Jersey-based PPE of America, “N95 is the U.S. standard, and the KN95 is the China standard.” Because of this, only N95 masks are approved for health-care use in the United States, even though KN95 masks have many of the same protective properties.

(Personally I would like to have more than “many of the same protective properties.” Especially for our healthcare workers.)

If there is anyone who still wants to know more about N95’s and other protection gear:

Young women choosing sterilization is sad and worrisome

The colonization of America continues with news of our latest arrivals well on their way. We learn as well that the indoctrination of potential co-creators of America’s home grown has been successful. Deaths exceeded births in 25 states. We learn as well that more women are choosing sterilization to insure they will not be troubled with offspring as well as doing their bit to pitch in to help out with Global Warming. In the story that follows, one can only feel sad that so many can not experience the joy of children. But that is where we are apparently.

Hot Air:

This story comes from Bari Weiss’ Substack. The author, Suzy Weiss, focuses on the growing trend of relatively young women getting sterilized because they decide they never want to have children. I knew there were people like this, so-called anti-natalists, but I found hearing their stories a bit sad and worrisome. For instance, a 31-year-old aspiring actress named Rachel Diamond:

Growing up near Hershey, Penn., Diamond always assumed she’d have a family of her own. Then came college at Arcadia University; her political awakening, away from her conservative roots, and towards progressivism; and a therapist who she found online a few months after graduation who made her realize that being spanked as a child was deeply traumatic, and that it made her fear authority figures like her father. She decided that she never wanted to be one herself. Never ever ever…

Last year, the number of deaths exceeded that of births in 25 states — up from five the year before. The marriage rate is also at an all-time low, at 6.5 marriages per 1,000 people. Millennials are the first generation where a majority are unmarried (about 56%). They are also more likely to live with their own parents, according to Pew, than previous generations were in their twenties and thirties…

The Rapture — sorry, the end — is upon us, and this is no time for onesies. So says The New Yorker and NPR and AOC. According to a new poll, 39% of Gen Zers are hesitant to procreate for fear of the climate apocalypse. A nationally representative study of adults in Michigan found that over a quarter of adults there are child-free by choice. And new research by the Institute of Family Studies found that the desire to have a child among adults decreased by 17% since the onset of the pandemic.

,,,,

I think it’s morally wrong to bring a child into the world,” said Isabel, 28, a self proclaimed anti-natalist who lives in southwestern Texas and did not want her last name in print. “No matter how good someone has it, they will suffer.”…

Chelsea, a 25 year-old in Sacramento, told me kids “kind of gross her out.” She’s weighing the risks of going under the knife, like infection or mood swings brought on by anesthesia, but says regret isn’t one of them. “What’s there to regret?” writes another Redditor, “That I’ll be too happy? Too free?”

This story brought to mind a post I did last summer.

Ben Domenech: Leftists Hate You And Your Baby

How and why does the government and other entities find that children and the family structure gets in the way of their grand experiment? Killing off sixty-two million babies via abortion is not enough. Children and parents are a problem. Ben Domenech gives us the run down.

Domenech’s points are so well made and it dovetails nicely with a post written in 2017 entitled The Genetic Dead Ends Who Rule Europe.

“Emmanuel Macron is the ninth current European leader whose loins have borne no fruit.”

Why do so many heads of State remain childless? Can they relate and have empathy and care about our precious little ones that bring us such joy and are the future of our Republic?  Ben takes it from here:

The Genetic Dead Ends Who Rule Europe is the title to an insightful and deliciously written piece about the fertility of the heads of European States. I have often pondered why Europe and many here in the States seem hellbent on losing our culture and identity ultimately giving away the very nature of the governance with the so-called open borders. Perhaps because many have no skin in the game for their offspring. Written in 2017, it is even more relevant in today’s world.

I suggest the full read.

Here we go:

When France decided to slit its own throat last week and elect the childless Emmanuel Macron as its president over the bustier and more fecund Marine Le Pen, it made him the ninth current European leader whose loins have borne no fruit.

In addition to France, childless men and barren women currently rule Italy, Germany, the UK, Scotland, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.  Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, has likewise never fathered nor raised a seedlin’. (And it’s not as if he has a face that inspires female lubrication, so it’d be an uphill climb for him under any circumstances.)

At this point, the 39-year-old Macron will likely never become a father, seeing as his 64-year-old wife’s vagina stands a high statistical chance of having fossilized by now. Macron has described colonialism as a “crime against humanity,” although he apparently has no qualms about France being colonized by Muslims. He has also stated that there is no such thing as “French culture.” He is also persistently dogged by rumors that he’s had a long-lasting, rump-wrangling, man-on-man relationship with Radio France chief executive Mathieu Gallet.

During the campaign, Marine Le Pen accused Macron of being the lapdog of Angela Merkel, the former communist and nude sunbatherwho has never given birth, but has handed Europe over to be killed.  Under Merkel’s frumpy rule, Germany can currently claim the dubious bragging right of being the nation with the highest quotient of childless women in the world.

Current UK Prime Minister Theresa May also has a womb that might as well be a tomb, but at least it’s not from a lack of trying.  Same goes for Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon—she gave up after suffering a miscarriage. Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, who looks like Merkel with maybe a half-shot of testosterone and without the Grecian Formula, has likewise never used his genitals to generate a child. According to the latest results from a highly unscientific online poll, 100% of respondents think he’s gay.

When it comes to Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel(pictured to right of his partner), there’s no denying it—he’s as gay as a fresh sprig of mistletoe pinned to a red-velvet winter’s vest. He currently bears the distinction of being the “only openly gay world leader” at the moment. And we can all safely assume that his life partner isn’t going to start poppin’ babies out of his rectum anytime soon.

Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has never seen a boy or girl call him “daddy.” The only thing mentioned in the “Personal life” section of his Wikipedia page is that he “enjoys sports.” I cannot confirm whether or not Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte is gay or not, but look at this picture and tell me he isn’t. What I can confirm is that a woman has never carried his sperm to term.

In stark contrast to the gaggle of fruits and the unfruitful who currently rule Western Europe, Donald Trump, Vladimir Putin, and Viktor Orban—who form a Triumvirate of Evil for anyone dumb enough to believe globalism’s a good thing—have graced the planet with a dozen children between them, which will undoubtedly lead to climate change and starvation in Africa, which will then force 100 million or so African refugees northward in search of freedom, social justice, and a better life.

The cobwebbed wombs and the blank-shooting scrotums that currently rule Europe obviously have no personal genetic stake in what happens to Europe after they die. To them, the Europeans of the future will be “all future generations” that inhabit Europe, not the biological descendants of those who’ve inhabited Europe for dozens of millennia.

A continent ruled by the sterile and inhabited by those who’ve been brainwashed or demoralized into choosing sterility themselves will have no posterity in the classical sense. Instead, they will be overrun by people from alien cultures who may not have developed much in the way of technology or philosophy but who at least possess the genetic wisdom to be fertile.”

California Parents Lose One More Right As State Limits Kids’ Menu Drinks To Water Or Milk

This story is not big as the lightbulb, shower head or toilet water restrictions the government has imposed. Maybe not as big a story on a ban on plastic straws. Just a reminder on a Saturday that the march on our liberties moves forward unabated. Just an update for my Saturday Flashback

Remember Mooch Obama bans fried foods and Frosted Flakes at Daycare Centers

Centers will be allowed to serve cheese, cottage cheese, and yogurt, as long as it has fewer than 23 grams of sugar per 6 ounces. The first version of the regulation would have banned cheese, cottage cheese, and “cheese food, or spread.”

The government said it will allow daycare centers to break the rules for special occasions like birthdays, but urged centers to “use discretion.”

Back to the latest control:

Yes, the rumors are true. California lawmakers passed a state law that forces restaurants within the state to offer only select beverages on children’s menus. Governor Jerry Brown signed SB 1192 into law in late September and it easily passed in both the State and the Assembly. Support for the nanny state law flew under the guise of what’s healthiest for the children.

The default options for beverages on children’s menus have been forced to change to unflavored milk and water.

Snip..

Should the government dictate what drinks a restaurant can serve to patrons? Do you want the government to decide what is healthiest for your children? When you go to McDonald’s, are you there for a fat-free kale smoothie? Is this giving you flashbacks to Nanny Bloomberg’s large drink ban in New York? (Which, I might add, was finally struck down in court as unconstitutional.)

That is precisely what is happening in California right as we speak. You are probably not surprised, but at the same time, when will the insanity stop?

Nothing against dairy on this site, but it does cause some problems for a lot of people. So who is to say that prompting the parent to “choose” milk is automatically healthier than the occasional soda drink? One could surmise that orange juice is healthier than soda until you see how it’s made and realize that it’s not the wholesome fruit-based drink we think it is.

Previously, California banned the sale of soda pop in schools. But, teens then apparently took to sports drinks.

Intellectual Takeout says:

As a 2013 study on the effects of soda bans published in the International Journal of Behavior Nutrition and Physical Activity warned, “State laws that ban soda but allow other SSBs [sugar-sweetened beverages] may lead students to substitute other non-soda SSBs.” (Unsurprisingly, California lawmakers also tried to ban sports drinks in schools in 2010. They failed, but the USDA passed a nationwide ban in 2013).

[…]A 2018 UCLA study found that while adolescent soda consumption was down in California, sugar consumption overall was still on the rise.

Bill Nye, the eugenics guy, says lets penalize families with ‘extra kids’

Bill Nye the science guy gives me a bit of PTSD. A flashback to the days of the old “Red China” days when they had their plans of destroying any aspect of culture. Purging it of thousands of years of history. We are doing that quite well without Bill. But now he moves on to Eugenics. Western Civilization is already looking at the specter of a declining birth rate that dooms itself to annihilation. Bill Nye has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Period. That is it. But this will be the new indoctrination for us and here is when it began. Here we go:

The Internet is rightly mocking the complete disaster that is the Rachel Bloom “My Sex Junk” video that is part of the new Netflix series, “Bill Nye Saves the World.” As bad as that is (it is BAD), another portion of the series is even worse. The 13th and final installment is titled “Earth’s People Problem,” and with a name like that, you know we could be in for some ideas that border on eugenics.

The 26-minute episode starts off in fairly inoffensive fashion. Following an intro that demonstrates how human consumption is like sponges soaking up water, Nye explains how women who have access to educational and professional opportunities tend to have fewer children.

Let’s Reconsider…Forced Sterilization?

The fight against climate change, Nye’s most passionate cause, is brought up by Rieder, who notes that children in developed countries use 160 times more resources than children in the developing world. This is where the creepy totalitarianism of the environmental movement starts to show itself. Nye asks, bluntly, “Should we have policies that penalize people for having extra kids in the developed world?”

Extra kids. These d-mn people and their existence, am I right? Nye (who, again, decided we all needed to see that abomination from Bloom) is wise enough to set limits on humanity. This whole concept and the ease with which he discusses it is so frightening and evil that I am genuinely appalled at Netflix’s decision to air it.

Rieder says we should “at least consider” a form of punishment for people who have these Extra Kids (TM). Nye impatiently responds that “consider means do it.” Snow, to her credit, jumps in and takes issue with the idea that “we do anything to incentivize fewer children or more children.” Benfield notes the history of compulsory sterilization in America, a practice that was in place as recently as the 1970s. The issue was not come at from a position of justice in the past, she adds. But this time will be different, I guess?

So, if you’re scoring at home, that leaves China’s maternity laws and their recently ended one-child policy as the key points from this half hour of science televangelism. As Calandrelli says, it’s time for America to “catch up.” With China.

Yeesh. The program had eight minutes left that I couldn’t watch even if I tried.

Boko Haram steals hundreds of more school boys in Nigeria

More children taken by Boko Haram. So time to go back and see what our savants in the government were saying about the group just a few months ago. Here is the latest:

Via NY Post:  August 15, 2014

Suspected Islamist Boko Haram fighters have abducted dozens of boys and men in a raid on a remote village in northeast Nigeria, loading them onto trucks and driving them off, witnesses who fled the violence said Friday.

The kidnappings come four months after Boko Haram, which is fighting to reinstate a medieval Islamic caliphate in religiously mixed Nigeria, abducted more than 200 schoolgirls from the village of Chibok.

Several witnesses who fled after Sunday’s raid on Doron Baga, a sandy fishing village near Lake Chad, said the militants had burned several houses and that as many as 97 people were unaccounted for.

“They left no men or boys in the place; only young children, girls and women,” said Halima Adamu, sobbing softly and looking exhausted after a 110-mile road trip on the back of a truck to the northern city of Maiduguri.

U.S. urged Nigeria restraint earlier in striking back at Terrorists

Hillary Clinton not only refused to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group, despite an unparalleled record of terror, but the Obama regime actually even urged Nigeria to show “restraint” against them, as reported a year ago:

Via Breitbart:

On May 18, 2013 Nigerian war planes “struck militant camps in the northeast” in an attempt to stem the growing tide of Islamic terrorists in the area. The U.S. quickly warned that Nigeria needs to be sure “to respect human rights and not harm civilians.

Reuters reports that Nigerian troops used “jets and helicopters to bombard targets in their biggest offensive since the Boko Haram group launched a revolt almost four years ago.”

But three days after President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in the northeast, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry issued a strongly worded statement saying: “We are … deeply concerned by credible allegations that Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations, which, in turn, only escalate the violence and fuel extremism.”

The situation in northeast Nigeria has become so bad that President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency there days ago.

Since that time, as Nigeria has used jets and helicopters to try to rein the Islamists in, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says he has “credible evidence” that Nigeria has committed “human rights violations” in retaliating against the Islamists.

Kerry said he condemns “Boko Haram’s campaign of terror in the strongest terms,” but he wants Nigeria to show “restraint” in their response.

Commie Blaster: Obama Regime Rebuilt Mosque in Boko Haram Area

In 2011, the State Department even provided funds to restore the 15th century Gobarau Minaret in Katsina State in Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north, an area which has become a virtual killing field for Christians at the hands of Boko Haram.

Since 2009 over 288 Christian churches in Nigeria have been burned, thousands of Christian-owned homes destroyed, and over 2,000 Christians killed, including in July 2012 when fifty members of a northern Nigerian church were burned to death in their pastor’s house.

And how about what Carson has to say on the matter?

Religion Is Not Driving violence in Nigeria After Islamists Slaughter 39 Christians April 11, 2012 — bunkerville

Another Dangerous Team Obama Idiot: State Official Says Religion Is Not Driving Extremist Violence in Nigeria – After Islamists Slaughter 39 Christians, reads the headline.

Asst. Secretary of State Johnnie Carson

“ I want to take this opportunity to stress one key point and that is that religion is not driving extremist violence either in Jos, or northern Nigeria,” Assistant  Secretary of State Carson said Monday at a forum on U.S. policy toward Nigeria held at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C. ED. (So much fo his insight)
