Boko Haram steals hundreds of more school boys in Nigeria

More children taken by Boko Haram. So time to go back and see what our savants in the government were saying about the group just a few months ago. Here is the latest:

Via NY Post:  August 15, 2014

Suspected Islamist Boko Haram fighters have abducted dozens of boys and men in a raid on a remote village in northeast Nigeria, loading them onto trucks and driving them off, witnesses who fled the violence said Friday.

The kidnappings come four months after Boko Haram, which is fighting to reinstate a medieval Islamic caliphate in religiously mixed Nigeria, abducted more than 200 schoolgirls from the village of Chibok.

Several witnesses who fled after Sunday’s raid on Doron Baga, a sandy fishing village near Lake Chad, said the militants had burned several houses and that as many as 97 people were unaccounted for.

“They left no men or boys in the place; only young children, girls and women,” said Halima Adamu, sobbing softly and looking exhausted after a 110-mile road trip on the back of a truck to the northern city of Maiduguri.

U.S. urged Nigeria restraint earlier in striking back at Terrorists

Hillary Clinton not only refused to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group, despite an unparalleled record of terror, but the Obama regime actually even urged Nigeria to show “restraint” against them, as reported a year ago:

Via Breitbart:

On May 18, 2013 Nigerian war planes “struck militant camps in the northeast” in an attempt to stem the growing tide of Islamic terrorists in the area. The U.S. quickly warned that Nigeria needs to be sure “to respect human rights and not harm civilians.

Reuters reports that Nigerian troops used “jets and helicopters to bombard targets in their biggest offensive since the Boko Haram group launched a revolt almost four years ago.”

But three days after President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency in the northeast, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry issued a strongly worded statement saying: “We are … deeply concerned by credible allegations that Nigerian security forces are committing gross human rights violations, which, in turn, only escalate the violence and fuel extremism.”

The situation in northeast Nigeria has become so bad that President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency there days ago.

Since that time, as Nigeria has used jets and helicopters to try to rein the Islamists in, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says he has “credible evidence” that Nigeria has committed “human rights violations” in retaliating against the Islamists.

Kerry said he condemns “Boko Haram’s campaign of terror in the strongest terms,” but he wants Nigeria to show “restraint” in their response.

Commie Blaster: Obama Regime Rebuilt Mosque in Boko Haram Area

In 2011, the State Department even provided funds to restore the 15th century Gobarau Minaret in Katsina State in Nigeria’s predominantly Muslim north, an area which has become a virtual killing field for Christians at the hands of Boko Haram.

Since 2009 over 288 Christian churches in Nigeria have been burned, thousands of Christian-owned homes destroyed, and over 2,000 Christians killed, including in July 2012 when fifty members of a northern Nigerian church were burned to death in their pastor’s house.

And how about what Carson has to say on the matter?

Clinton refused to call Boko Haram a terrorist group even after threatening our ambassador

Shades of Benghazi. Hillary got lucky on this one. Stevens wasn’t so lucky. Better yet? The U.S.  accused Nigeria of war crimes in going after Boko Haram. Now we learn that we were fine in having our Ambassador to Nigeria threatened without a response. Does anyone really wonder anymore why we are so disrespected and the world is winding up in a free for all?

Secretary of State John Kerry says he has “credible evidence” that Nigeria has committed “human rights violations” in retaliating against the Islamists.

Daily Mail :

Boko Haram vowed in February 2012 to assassinate Ambassador Terence McCulley if the U.S. helped Nigeria with terror-fighting efforts
‘We know his house … We know his vehicle and the time he leaves his house and the time he returns,’ the group said in a communique to media
The warning was similar to Ansar al-Shariah’s pledge to kill U.S. officials in Benghazi, Libya, three months before the deadly 2012 terror attack there
Despite clear threats, Hillary Clinton’s State Department fought efforts to officially designate the mass-murdering Nigerians as a terrorist group
A former State Dept. official said naming new terror groups ‘sent the wrong message’ about al-Qaeda and its allies as Barack Obama ran for re-election

Boko Haram, the African Islamist terror group whose April kidnapping of nearly 300 young girls has united the civilized world in anger, promised to assassinate U.S. ambassador to Nigeria Terence McCulley in February 2012, vowing to murder him if America signed a terrorism-fighting Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the government in Abuja.

McCulley, now the U.S. ambassador to Ivory Coast, was not harmed. But the threat, coming amid a years-long bombing campaign that killed more than 1,400 Nigerian civilians, didn’t move then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to fast-track the addition of Boko Haram to the U.S. government’s official list of international terrorist groups.

Independent media outlets inside Nigeria first reported on February 9, 2012 that an unnamed Boko Haram leader issued a statement promising that ‘we will murder the U.S. Ambassador if the MOU is signed.’

The revelation provides a stark parallel with assassination warnings issued by Islamist groups in Benghazi, Libya in the months before the September 11, 2012 attack that killed U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other American personnel.

Let us not forget Johnnie Carson, Assistant Secretary of State for his wise counsel in the Nigerian affair as well as Hillary, and our latest savant, John Jerry. Where is the media in reporting these wacko statements that reflect our failed foreign policy? Not only that, the U.S. funded the rebuilding of a Nigerian Muslim minaret.

Hillary Clinton not only refused to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist group, despite an unparalleled record of terror, but the Obama regime actually even urged Nigeria to show “restraint” against them, as reported a year ago:

10,000 Syrian children dead after red line, but we will find Nigerian Children

When I heard that Lurch AKA John Kerry had taken his political side-show to Africa  last week after clearly flailing about in the Middle East and elsewhere, we had to know that Africa had to be the next attention distraction . Kerry Urges Steps to Ensure Democracy in Africa – ABC News.

Look, I am sympathetic to the hundreds of missing girls kidnapped by Boko Haram in Nigeria. They have been missing for months. Why now the attention? And how about the 10,000 children that have been killed and tortured in Syria? Interesting that we hear precious little about Obama/Clinton’s failed Syrian policy, but now the drum beats for Nigeria. So Obama wants to be a hero, and the media is lapping it up. Meanwhile we will destabilize more countries as the Democracy rhetoric beats louder as was done in the Arab Spring.

More than 10,000 children have been killed in the Syrian civil war, the United Nations says, while many more are subjected to “unspeakable” suffering, including rape, torture and recruitment for combat.

Thousands more have also been forced to flee their homes during the three-year conflict, according to a report released this week to the Security Council and posted on the UN website.

More importantly, those in the State Department refuse to admit it is the  Muslims creating a war against Christians  in Nigeria, and have been slaughtering them for years.

Where do they find these nut jobs?

“While some seek to inflame Muslim-Christian tensions, Nigeria’s ethnic and religious diversity, like our own in this country, is a source of strength, not weakness,” he added,  “and there are many examples across Nigeria of communities working across religious lines to protect one another.”

The Islamist group Boko Haram took credit for the attack. They declared war on Christians in December.

Similarly, on Christmas Day, the Nigerian Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, attacked a Catholic church in that country, killing more than 40 people.

Muslims are 52% and reside mostly at the Northern part of the country. Christians form about 47 to 48% and reside majorly in the Southern part of the country.

Last Friday, ahead of the Easter attacks, the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF)issued a press release expressing “deep concern” about threats from Boko Haram before the Christian holiday and described the group as espousing “an extreme and violent interpretation of Islam.”

“These threats,” USCIRF Chairman Leonard Leo said, “should be taken seriously, especially given Boko Haram’s coordinated attacks on Christmas Day, when suicide bombers attacked churches in five different cities in central and northern Nigeria.” CNS News

More over at Hot Air:

Did Hillary refuse to designate Boko Haram as a terrorist organization?

Josh Rogin at The Daily Beast reported last night that the State Department was asked repeatedly during her tenure as Secretary of State to add it to their list of terrorist organizations — but refused to do so:

What Clinton didn’t mention was that her own State Department refused to place Boko Haram on the list of foreign terrorist organizations in 2011, after the group bombed the UN headquarters in Abuja. The refusal came despite the urging of the Justice Department, the FBI, the CIA, and over a dozen Senators and Congressmen.

“The one thing she could have done, the one tool she had at her disposal, she didn’t use. And nobody can say she wasn’t urged to do it. It’s gross hypocrisy,” said a former senior U.S. official who was involved in the debate. “The FBI, the CIA, and the Justice Department really wanted Boko Haram designated, they wanted the authorities that would provide to go after them, and they voiced that repeatedly to elected officials.”

Here a bonus to the story:

In December 2010, David Plouffe received $100,000 for two speeches in Nigeria from an affiliate of the South African telecommunications company MTN Group. At the time, MTN had been doing business with thegovernment of Iran since 2005. Recently, MTN has come under increased scrutiny by the U.S. for allegations that the Iranian government has used the MTN network in the country to track and monitor dissidents. MTN has been listed on the “Iran Business Registry” of prominent watchdog group United Against Nuclear Iran since 2009.[17]  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Plouffe

From LWashington Post:David Plouffe , a senior White House adviser who was President Obama’s 2008 campaign manager, accepted a $100,000 speaking fee in 2010 from an affiliate of a company doing business with Iran’s government.

Since Plouffe’s speeches, MTN Group has come under intensified scrutiny from U.S. authorities because of its activities in Iran and Syria, which are under international sanctions intended to limit the countries’ access to sensitive technology. At the time of Plouffe’s speeches, MTN had been in a widely reported partnership for five years with a state-owned Iranian telecommunications firm.

Religion Is Not Driving violence in Nigeria – After Islamists Slaughter 39 Christians

The sad fact, that very little coverage is being given to the plight of Christians worldwide.  According to latest polls, Obama gets favorable ratings for his foreign policy, yet this is what we have going on in Africa. I still have not gotten my head around what is going on down there. We are supporting who knows who, and it looks like the Christians are not the ones, according to the statements from one of Obama’s minions.
