United States and its Bizarre Energy Policies – Now Bans Nat Gas Exports

John Kerry Told The Washington Post He Wants To Remove 1.6 Trillion Tons Of Carbon Dioxide From The Atmosphere Via Direct Air Capture Estimated Cost For Tax Payers: $1.6 Quadrillion Dollars That’s $1,600,000,000,000,000 (This isn’t a joke, he’s serious) “The lowest periods of carbon in the atmosphere and not only recorded history, in the history of life existing on the planet.

Just in: Can Biden get any dumber?

The Biden Administration on Jan. 26, 2024, announced that the U.S. would pause pending decisions on permits to export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to non-free trade agreement countries until the U.S. Department of Energy can update the underlying analyses for authorizations.

Tucker at his best at the absurdity of it all.

So in summation, the world continues on. The United states continues to play the Chump Card. Just for laughs and giggles.

China is, by a very wide margin, the world’s largest consumer of coal. China’s consumption of coal exploded after 1999 and has more than tripled through 2023.

India has expanded its consumption of coal much more slowly over the decades covered in the data, but has more than quadrupled its consumption since 1996. Although its population has grown to exceed that of China, India recorded a little over 26% of China’s total consumption of coal in 2023.

The United States is historically the world’s largest consumer of coal, but the nation has greatly reduced its consumption since it peaked in 2005. In 2023, U.S. annual coal consumption has dropped by 70% from that peak.

Biden Hits Air Conditioners With New Rule – Over 100 New Energy Rules Added So Far

Biden was out there smirking that he had implemented  over “100 new rules” because there is nothing a totalitarian regime likes more than “Rules.” No joke. This as it was announced yesterday that Air Conditioners were on the “hit list” and more Rules are on the way. So I thought I would check it out. No joke, he has. Here is the link.

FACT SHEET: Biden-Harris Administration Takes More Than 100 Actions in 2022 to Strengthen Energy Efficiency Standards and Save Families Money.

After they just announced the gas stove was on the block (despite multiple denials), the Biden administration – this time the Department of Energy – has announced new rules for air conditioners and air cleaners they say will make common household items more efficient. Yes, Granholm, the savant in the Energy Department. Bunks earlier post:

Energy Secretary Granholm Says They Don’t Want To Ban All Gas Stoves — Just SOME Gas Stoves

Just a few highlights of the regime’s attack on consumers.

This is the 110th action to strengthen energy efficiency standards that the Administration has taken in 2022. These 110 actions span a range of household products—everything from air conditioners and furnaces, to clothes washers and dryers, to kitchen appliances and water heaters—as well as commercial and industrial equipment.

  • Lightbulbs: Today’s proposed rule to strengthen lightbulb efficiency standards would deliver cumulative consumer savings of $20 billion and reduce carbon emissions by 131 million metric tons over 30 years. These benefits are in addition to DOE’s final actions earlier this year to implement a nearer-term phaseout of inefficient incandescent bulbs, which will save consumers nearly $3 billion annually, while reducing carbon emissions by 222 million metric tons over 30 years—the equivalent of what 28 million homes emit in a year.
  • Gas Furnaces: DOE proposed new standards for residential gas furnaces—which had not been significantly strengthened in over three decades—to achieve a 95% annual fuel utilization efficiency level, improvements that will save consumers $1.9 billion annually. Over 30 years, the rule would reduce carbon emissions by 373 million metric tons and methane emissions by 5.1 million tons, the equivalent of what 61 million homes emit in a year.
  • Room Air Conditioners: American households purchase over seven million room air conditioners each year. DOE issued a proposed rule to boost the efficiency of these units, which would save consumers up to $275 over the life of the product. The proposal would also reduce carbon emissions over 30 years by nearly 50 million metric tons, the equivalent of what more than 6 million homes emit in a year.
  • Clothes Dryers: DOE proposed stronger efficiency standards for both electric and gas clothes dryers, which could save the average household $36 on annual utility bills. Over 30 years, the rule would reduce carbon emissions by 116 million metric tons, the equivalent of what 14.6 million homes emit in a year.

In fact there are few household appliances that are not up for review.

About the Air Conditioners just announced-

As the Epoch Times notes, the new rules are anticipated to cost manufacturers around $82.1 million to implement.

“What these mandates, what these standards, do is enforce a level of efficiency that doesn’t make sense,” Ben Lieberman, a fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, told Fox News. “And they compromise product quality. We’ve already seen this to an extent with cost of clothes washer standards.”

“That’s another problem—this is a regulatory program that’s very long in the tooth and you’re getting to the point where clothes washers—this might be the fifth time they’ve been regulated,” Lieberman added. “So we’re really chasing after diminishing or nonexistent marginal returns.”

More via the Epoch Times:

The rules for air cleaners would be implemented over the next 12 months, beginning in 2024, while the rule for air conditioners will begin in 2026. According to the agency, doing so will eliminate 106 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions over three decades. Sure.

Critics have called the new rules tantamount to federal overreach

According to the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers, the standards “too stringent and will have a negative, disproportionate impact on low-income households and historically marginalized communities.”

In 2022, the group suggested that the DOE “reassess parts of its analysis with respect to proposed standards levels … and some of the assumptions upon which the analysis is based,” adding “… DOE must conduct further analysis to determine how increasingly stringent standards disproportionately affect low-income households and historically marginalized communities, as required…”

But its not just homes that will be effected. The intent is to hit various industries and that will cost the really big bucks. All of this of course will raise the price not just on the items, but various industries and will pass on their costs.

John Kerry is not done with us either,

John Kerry Considering Fleeing the Administration to Escape Scrutiny

Let’s put a fork in the fellow. Is there anyone more despicable than John Kerry who has been one of the most destructive forces in government with his inane Climate Change agenda? The Iran Nuclear Deal?  Of course, setting aside his other nonsense as Secretary of State. I relish the opportunity to haul he and he fellow Marxists before the Mast.. in this case hearings before Congress.

Jet-setting climate czar John Kerry is reportedly thinking of fleeing the Biden administration just before a potential GOP takeover of Congress, escaping likely scrutiny into his payroll and globetrotting ways.

Kerry can see which way the headwinds are blowing on Election Day, and it’s not good for him.

Does he really need to be repeatedly hauled before the Republican-controlled Senate to justify his job, his jet, his staff and his carbon-emitting world travels?

Kerry has arrogantly refused to release even his climate czar payroll to the Herald.

Why yes. He does need to be hauled and Judicial Watch is setting a good pathway.
Good work.

Does it get any better?

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit against the U.S. Department of State for details of climate envoy John Kerry’s office, including his calendars, the identities of its staff members and its cost of his travel (Judicial Watch Inc. V. U.S. Department of State ((No. 1:22-cv-02844).

Judicial Watch filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia after the State Department failed to respond adequately to a July 31, 2022, FOIA request for:

    1. Copies of all records concerning individual authorizations for and the costs of John Kerry, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, for any official travel from January 21, 2021, to present. This request includes any reimbursement amounts the government paid to Mr. Kerry.
    1. All calendar or calendar entries for John Kerry, U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, whether made by him personally or on his behalf from January 21, 2021, to present. Request calendars, if possible, be produced in a format that includes invitees, notes, and attachments. This request includes not only Microsoft Outlook calendars, but any calendar, electronic or paper, used in the execution of government business.
    1. Copies of all organizational charts for the Office of the Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, including any sub organizations, reflecting names and/or position titles of each individual in those positions. Judicial Watch does not object to the redaction of contact information (telephone numbers/emails) for any employee listed in the organizational chai1(s).

“The American people have a right to know what John Kerry is up to, what we’re paying to fly him around the world, and who we pay to actually work for him,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

Thank you Tom Fitton.

I wanted to choose a Kerry clip that sums it all up after going through ten years of my clips. Of course setting aside all of his other nonsense that got us into the Iran negotiating nonsense, I think this will do it.

I just couldn’t resist this bit of Paris Accord. Just to provide insight into our savant’s method of organizing his thought patterns.

BONUS:

John Kerry: ‘There would have been no Paris Accord if there had been penalties

“So that is a serious form of enforcement, if you will, compliance. But there is no penalty for it, obviously, but if there had been a penalty, we wouldn’t have been able to get an agreement.”

On December 14, 2015 I posted this and see if you can follow his logic.

Here Kerry opines on two insights on the Global Warming “agreement.”Kerry: Public Shaming is ‘Most Powerful Weapon in Many Ways’ to Enforce World Climate Agreement.

Kerry said it is expected that the world will invest about $50 trillion into energy over the next 30 or 40 years, and that will be one of the main factors causing countries to “spontaneously move in this direction, because there’s jobs to be created, money to be made, and there’s a population to respond to in terms of the demand of their citizens.”

The other astute observation?

While discussing the global climate change agreement made in Paris over the weekend, Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged on Fox News Sunday that there wouldn’t been an agreement at all if there were binding penalties for countries not meeting emissions standards.

Kerry worried that Russian war will distract from Climate Change

No need to be concerned that Kerry has lost focus on his religion of Climate Change. In the midst of the fog of war Kerry raises his concerns about Climate Change. Added to the post are some real confidence builders that we are in good hands with our esteemed leaders of the free world. Biden and Harris add to the merriment with their “quotes of the week.”

Kerry said, “I’m very concerned about Ukraine in interview with the BBC dated Feb. 23.   The impact of the invasion: it might distract countries from their efforts to combat climate change.

He raised concerns about the “massive emissions consequences to the war.”

“But equally importantly, you’re going to lose peoples’ focus. You’re going to lose certainly big country  attention because they will be diverted. And I think you could have a damaging impact,” he continued.

Finally, Kerry said, “I hope President Putin will help us to stay on track with respect to what we need to do for the climate.”

Here he is, handsome as ever.

Look at the bright side. He could be Secretary of State leading the U.S. out of the abyss we find ourselves in. He made these remarks on BBC Arab. As the U.S. begs the Arabs to pump more oil as we sit on one of the biggest energy sources in the world. The world must be laughing. We have Kerry coming up with this nonsense.

Just to make your Friday complete I add a demonstration from Biden that shows he is at the top of his game as well.

President Joe Biden has given a bizarre response to a reporter’s question, who asked if he has “underestimated” Vladimir Putin, by staring blankly and picking at his teeth.

The sly old fox.

The post would not be complete without a statement from our Vice President.

New York Post:

Vice President Kamala Harris was mocked after she appeared unprepared to discuss the Ukraine crisis during a Q&A with reporters at the Munich Security Conference in Germany.

“I mean, listen, guys, we’re talking about the potential for war in Europe,” Harris said at one point Sunday in response to a question about how the Biden administration saw the situation’s “endgame” playing out.

“I mean, let’s really take a moment to understand the significance of what we’re talking about,” the veep went on. “It’s been over 70 years. And through those 70 years … there has been peace and security. We are talking about the real possibility of war in Europe.”

Twitter user Jon Will Chambers summed up the thoughts of many by asking: “Did I just watch Kamala Harris claim there has been peace in Europe for 70 years?”

Direct quotes can be harsh, but this is from Kamala Harris:

Obama Granted Amnesty to Soleimani in Iran Deal

From the Iran Deal text we learn that Kerry offered more to Iran than a nuclear deal. From the Iran Deal Text we learn that amnesty was granted to Soleimani by Obama,

A report in July 2015 in the British news service The Telegraph revealed that on page 86 of the annex of the newly agreed upon Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal or Iran deal, was an interesting clause granting amnesty to Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian general killed last week in a drone strikeThe Telegraph’s  Defence Editor, Con Coughlin, was astounded at the revelation, describing Soelimani (spelled Gasem Soleymani in the JCPOA) as “one of the world’s leading terrorist masterminds.”

Soleimani

“For a decade a more he has been the driving force behind an array of Iranian-sponsored terrorist groups, from Hizbollah to Hamas, which have orchestrated a reign of terror throughout the Middle East,” Coughlin wrote. “Thanks to Mr. Obama’s scandalous capitulation to Tehran, Mr. Suleimani has overnight gone from being one of the world’s most wanted terrorists to the White House’s newest best friend.”

This amnesty clause in the JCPOA removed Soleimani from the Treasury Department’s designated terrorist list he had been on since 2007. Before the JCPOA, Soleimani was targeted with sanctions in the United Nations Security Council, by the U.S., the European Union, and the Swiss government.

As if this was not enough, in 2015, the Obama administration warned the Iranian leadership of an Israeli plan, revealing that Israel was closely tracking the Iranian general, thwarting the plans and creating a rift between the U.S. and Israel.

A number of other senior members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) were included in this blanket amnesty as well. The appendix in the JCPOA covered entities, individuals as well as corporations, that would be affected by the removal of economic sanctions as per the agreement.

This acceptance of terrorists was not unusual under the Obama administration. One of the leaders of the riots that threatened the embassy in Baghdad two weeks ago was Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Badr Organization,  one of the largest pro-Iran militias in Iraq. Hadi Farhan al-Amiri, the Iraqi Minister of Transportation at the time, was a guest of former President Barack Obama at the White House in 2011 as part of a delegation from the Iraqi government

John Kerry’s Iran family connection Foreign Minister Zarif targeted by Trump

For the best in news.

John Kerry’s Iran family connection Foreign Minister Zarif targeted by Trump

Mnuchin said Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif would be targeted with US sanctions along with others. Now this is so sweet. Kerry’s BFF Zariff gets nailed.

Just who is Javad Zarif and his family ties with John Kerry?

John Kerry and daughter Vanessa Kerry Nahed

Kerry has been doing all he can to make sure his own idiotic Iranian deal stays in place by visiting the major principles. Meeting with Iranian Prime Minister.  I will get to that, but first some of the best from the past.

Kerry’s daughter Vanessa is married to an Iranian national and physician. His best man at the ceremony was the son of Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. Zarif was Kerry’s chief counterpart in the nuclear deal negotiations.

Let us look at this earlier post. Is Kerry being blackmailed with his Iranian family ties?

“I am proud of the Iranian-Americans in my own family, and grateful for how they have enriched my life,” Kerry said in the official statement. Kerry also said he was “strongly committed to resolving” the differences between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, “to the mutual benefit of both of our people.”

Anyone who has been around my blog knows I have been outraged that Iranian born Jarrett who still has friends in Iran has not been fully exposed for who she is, let us recall this information about Kerry, and his daughter’s husband’s family who happens to live in Iran. How in the world did Kerry even get a security clearance.

“But what if the regime simply decides to round up Nahed’s family members and torture them? Or sends its goons to visit them at home? Or exerts some form of more subtle pressure on them that gets no publicity, and then makes it known they want the United States to release Iranians jailed in the United States on terrorism charges or for attempting to procure weapons technology or military spare parts”?

Our patriot Kerry:

Kerry exposes Iranian family tie — and subjects family to blackmail

Secretary of State John Kerry exposed a secret that journalists and academics have been agonizing: the fact that his daughter has married an Iranian-American who has extensive family ties to Iran. Ed: You bet the agonizing was really deep – instead of reporting the facts, remaining complicit.

Trump’s sanctions were also imposed on eight senior commanders of Navy, Aerospace, and Ground Forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), the US Treasury Department said as well as Kerry’s friend Zariff

These commanders sit atop a bureaucracy that supervises the IRGC’s malicious regional activities, including its provocative ballistic missile program, harassment and sabotage of commercial vessels in international waters, and its destabilizing presence in Syria,” the department said in a statement.

Once more Kerry as the traitor he has always been. Doing all he can to make sure his own Iranian deal stays in place by visiting the major principles.

Former Secretary of State John Kerry is actively working to keep the Iran nuclear deal in place as U.S. weighs the future of the deal, according to a new report.

Kerry, who served as the nation’s top diplomat under former President Barack Obama, was an instrumental leader in the development of the 2015 Iran deal,

The Boston Globe reports Kerry met with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif to examine how to preserve the deal.

Additionally, he has met and spoken with several European officials on the matter, including German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Senator Feinstein caught talking to Iran on unsecure IPhone

If we thought the latest kerfuffle over Kerry’s mixing into foreign policy regarding Iran recently was a Logan problem, add the concept of Feinstein walking around congress on an unsecured line talking on her IPhone to Iranian Prime Minister Zarif.

The same Zarif that Kerry is so involved with. Keep in mind, Kerry’s daughter Vanessa is married to an Iranian national and physician. His best man at the ceremony was the son of Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. Zarif was also Kerry’s chief counterpart in the nuclear deal negotiations.

First just for old times sake:

Kerry and his Iranian in-law relatives. Could he be black mailed?

But back to the business at hand. A portion of the take down by Mark Levin that is well worth hearing the full thing.

LevinTV host Mark Levin called out the hypocrisy of the Democrats after Sen. Dianne Feinstein, was caught on the phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif earlier Thursday, and the media said nothing.

“He’s the foreign minister to an enemy state that seeks to attack American military personnel in the Middle East, that seeks to put nuclear warheads on ICBMs so they can reach the United States. It is a terrorist regime, an Islamo-Nazi regime in Tehran, that has killed Americans, that funds Hezbollah to kill Americans, that funds Hamas to kill, and is a threat to our national security, obviously,” Levin said. “What in the hell is the ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Committee doing talking on an iPhone around the Capitol to Javad Zarif?”

“What is it with these Democrats fronting for this Islamo-Nazi regime that wants to kill Americans and Jews in Israel? You’ve got Frankenfeinstein, you’ve got … John Kerry — or the real Frankenstein — giving aid and comfort to the enemy! It’s not enough that they released $150 billion to this regime; now they’re giving it advice, against the president of the United States. You want to talk about the Logan Act? You want to talk about collusion?”

Levin pointed out that the media, of course, has said nothing about Feinstein’s phone call.

“Don Trump Jr. has a meeting with a couple of Russians, meeting turns out to nothing, and it’s the crime of the century. Except Mueller says it’s not, but the media says it is. You have Dianne Frankenfeinstein on her damn cell phone with the foreign minister of Iran! Anybody want to know what they discussed? ‘No, no, that’s Dianne, we like her,’” Levin said.   H/T: Blazing Press

Flynn out – Wasn’t what Kerry and Pelosi did to Bush much worse?

The Dems get their first scalp with Flynn. All red meat. They are hanging it on some remote law from 1799. The Logan Act – which prohibits private citizens from negotiating with foreign governments having a dispute with the U.S. That act was passed in 1799 and has never been adjudicated, so prosecution could be difficult.

Forget the private citizen bit. We were in transition in leadership. Wasn’t it much more damaging for Pelosi and Kerry as Senators to undermine the Bush administration’s policy on Assad?

During the Bush Administration, the Dems did what they could to undermine his policy in attempting to isolate Syria. From Kerry to Pelosi, they defied him and went waltzing over to meet with their “friend” that they were sure was going to be our go to guy in the Middle East. A butcher with massive amounts of chemical weapons, no mind. What is it with all of these Progressives and their infatuation with dictators?

The Washington Free Beacon in an article titled “An Affair to Remember: John Kerry Hearts Bashar al-Assad” called Kerry the Syrian dictator’s “highest-ranking apologist in American politics”:

Kerry thwarted efforts during the Bush administration to diplomatically isolate Syria after the administration’s own efforts to engage the regime ended in failure in 2003.

Kerry served as the Obama administration’s envoy to Assad, leading a delegation to Syria just days after Obama’s inauguration. There he listened to Bashar Assad lecture him that Washington must “move away from a policy based on dictating decisions.”

Kerry: ‘There would be no Climate Agreement if there were actual penalties’

Here is something silly from a silly Secretary of State for a Tuesday. Of course it has been reported the U.S. is up for giving $100 Billion for our carbon sins to poor countries, but what the heck. Here Kerry opines on two insights on the Global Warming “agreement.”Kerry: Public Shaming is ‘Most Powerful Weapon in Many Ways’ to Enforce World Climate Agreement. The other astute observation?

While discussing the global climate change agreement made in Paris over the weekend, Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged on Fox News Sunday that there wouldn’t been an agreement at all if there were binding penalties for countries not meeting emissions standards.

President Obama, Kerry said, was determined to “get an agreement that would move the world in the right direction.” As such, Kerry said that the “best thing we can do” to get countries to reduce their carbon emissions was a “mandatory reporting requirement.”

In a bit of circular logic, Kerry said that countries would have to retool their reduction levels every five years to meet their commitments, but he couldn’t say there was anything beyond their own word to force them to so.

“The best thing we can do in an effort to try to change people’s thinking is to do this mandatory reporting requirement,” Kerry said. “The mandatory reporting requirement has to be updated every five years. Every five years, it is mandatory that countries retool their reduction levels in order to meet the demands of meeting the curve of reduction to which they have committed. So that is a serious form of enforcement, if you will, compliance. But there is no penalty for it, obviously, but if there had been a penalty, we wouldn’t have been able to get an agreement.”
