NBC: Force Kids to Put On Double Masks

“They’re “very snug” and “not a lot of air…getting in” – yes, let’s deprive our kids of oxygen. Surgical masks are worthless in offering any protection as you will see in the demonstration. Paging Dr. Fauci.

NBC News suggested Tuesday that kids should double mask as students return to school after winter vacation and the country grapples with the rise of the omicron coronavirus variant.

“I actually just sent my kids out the door, minutes ago, with two masks,” NBC investigative and consumer correspondent Vicky Nguyen said on “Today.”

Now a consumer correspondent is getting into the act in an attempt to ramp up hysteria.

There is Zero way a child should/could tolerate an N95. KN signifies that they are made in China. Don’t you think it is interesting that those cargo containers from China with their masks make it to our shores? We can’t ramp up for N95’s here?

Bonus time: If you are having problems finding a Covid Testing place, this fine lady has an interesting method of home testing.

KN designates they were made in China.

But how are N95 masks different from KN95 masks? The main difference lies in how the masks are certified. “In general,” says Sean Kelly, founder of New Jersey-based PPE of America, “N95 is the U.S. standard, and the KN95 is the China standard.” Because of this, only N95 masks are approved for health-care use in the United States, even though KN95 masks have many of the same protective properties.

(Personally I would like to have more than “many of the same protective properties.” Especially for our healthcare workers.)

If there is anyone who still wants to know more about N95’s and other protection gear:

Warp Speed Biden Signs $137 Million Covid Test Factory – Won’t Open Until Late 2024

This week alone: CNN: Cloth masks don’t work. CDC Director: PCR tests are unreliable Fauci: 10 day quarantines can be cut to 5 days now. Biden: There is no federal solution to beat COVID-19.

They are shifting the narrative. Just in time for the midterms.

DailyMail:

The Biden administration struck a $137 million deal to build a new factory in the U.S. to ramp up production of COVID-19 testing kits – but the new facility won’t be completed until late 2024 at the earliest.

MilliporeSigma, a brand formed by Germany’s Merck KGaA, will build a new factory in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the Defense Department announced as the U.S. hit a high record of 489,267 COVID cases on Wednesday

While the contract gives the company three years to complete the facility, it is not immediately clear when it will ramp up to full production, which is expected to pump out 83.3 million tests per month.

…..

There are concerns Biden won’t be able to deliver on his promise for 500 million tests as it emerged Wednesday contracts for the order won’t be finished until early January and the administration is still ‘working to finalize’ how to distribute the kits.

Biden Admits He Was Unprepared Amid COVID Tests Shortage

Imagine having such a callous disregard for the health and safety of your fellow Americans that you *joke* about how absurd it would be to ensure access to basic testing as a disease control measure.

The answer is we need more than one for each American, and since you’re sending us something, how about some N95 masks also.

As I watch government officials including our Reps and media types wearing KN95. I can only shake my head. KN designates they were made in China. Maybe we can beg China for some test kits. Are there no companies in the United States that can make N95’s?

But how are N95 masks different from KN95 masks? The main difference lies in how the masks are certified. “In general,” says Sean Kelly, founder of New Jersey-based PPE of America, “N95 is the U.S. standard, and the KN95 is the China standard.” Because of this, only N95 masks are approved for health-care use in the United States, even though KN95 masks have many of the same protective properties.

The official said the government is invoking the Defense Production Act (DPA) to award the contract for the manufacturing plant, claiming there are several similar contracts in the works.

Biden has already used the DPA to speed production of swabs and pipettes for COVID-19 test production. Can’t we swing by one of your buddies to farm out another no bid contract for N95 Masks that work?

Recall this?

Chinese Covid test kits and N95 Masks prove faulty

Dutch officials have recalled 600,000 face masks manufactured in China because they did not meet quality standards, the government’s health ministry said on Saturday.

The news shocked frontline medical staff in the Netherlands, who rely on high-quality products to protect them from contracting Covid-19, Dutch public broadcaster NOS said.

Half of the shipment of 1.3 million supposedly top-of-the-line face masks – known as N95 in the United States and Hong Kong – had already been distributed to doctors and nurses treating the most critical Covid-19 patients, the government said.

Surgeon General and WHO ‘mask’ position just comes out – lies, lies and more lies

They play us for fools….and this one takes me over the top. They insult our intelligence and are laughing at us.

We are wrapping rags around our mouths…rags that do nothing and are more likely to increase the risk of infection.

So Doctor Surgeon General, what happens when we put our rags around our mouth?

Follow the dates: First

Then they told us we should wear bandanas…. now we are to hunker down and make our own. How much more will Americans take of this total nonsense? Apparently plenty.

You want to talk about inept, we have gone from masks don’t work to everybody needs a mask in weeks. Thank you CDC, WHO, and Surgeon General. My confidence in you is off the Charts.

Meanwhile the world walks around not only with surgical masks but N95’s. Surgical masks protect OTHERS from you. You? Zip. N95’s protect YOU from others and others from you. Cloth masks don’t do squat except maybe make you sick. Tell me, which one would you chose?

If they protect doctors and nurses then why would they not protect citizens?

Tell me how is it we are not infecting ourselves putting on these rags?? Note how he touches all aspects of his material –

Now this past Monday WHO comes out with masks are bad. I swear they want to kill us. Guess Who is the head of WHO?

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus is NOT an actual medical doctor.

He’s not:  Tedros was elected as Director-General of the World Health Organization by the World Health Assembly on 23 May 2017,[becoming the first director-general who is not a medical doctor.[Wiki footnote #58].

Thanks go to David Drake for the info on Tedros.

Lots of luck with this.

Advice on the use of masks in the context of COVID-19

Global health officials still insist that medical masks should be reserved for health-care workers, even as an increasing number of governments recommend the general public wear them to help slow the spread of coronavirus.

“There is currently no evidence that wearing a mask, whether medical or other types, by healthy persons in the wider community setting, including universal community masking, can prevent them from infection with respiratory viruses, including Covid-19,” a report released late Monday by the World Health Organization said.

Nevertheless, countries around the world are advising people to wear masks. Asian governments recommend them in crowded places, while eastern European countries have mandated wearing them in public. The U.S. last week recommended Americans wear nonmedical cloth masks in public, whether they’re infected or not.

Overview

This document provides advice on the use of masks in communities, during home care, and in health care settings in areas that have reported cases of COVID-19. It is intended for individuals in the community, public health and infection prevention and control (IPC) professionals, health care managers, health care workers (HCWs), and community health workers. This updated version includes a section on Advice to decision makers on the use of masks for healthy people in community settings.

Yep

As those jackass Docs of Trump at the daily briefing always start out.

“Looking at the granular data.” Well here is the so called granular data.

Okay, you want to get people back to work? Give them N-95’s.  That’s it folks…..the best of the swamp. I have had my say.

Coronavirus – Time to stock up on N95 Respirator masks

Making best use of you N95 Respirators and other options

Making best use of you N95 Respirators and other options

There is little doubt that we are in for the long haul regarding the Corona virus. By now you have probably snagged some respirators. If not, I will offer other options as well as making the most of what you have.

While it is not recommended that the disposable N95 respirator be used again, recommendations were made during the 2009 H1N1 virus epidemic when it became necessary to alter it due to the potential shortages of N95’s.

N95’s have a shelf life with an expiration date. There are many complaints from those who bought on Ebay and Amazon.

Most importantly for your protection a mask seal must be maintained  at all times. I will give you links at the end on how best to insure a seal. Your N95 is to protect you. A surgical mask that you see… often with loops around the ears… does not protect that person, it is an attempt to protect you from them.

Most important you want to maintain the inside of your mask from any contact with the virus. Thus Never Touch The Inside Of Your Mask. Either when putting it on or taking it off. Washing your hands – 20 seconds – about the time of singing Happy Birthday both before and after touching any part of the outside the mask. Gloves are even better. It is suggested that after using it put it in a paper bag, or otherwise do not contaminate the inside. The main thing is not to get it wet or dirty so as to maintain its integrity. If you find it difficult to maintain a seal it has been suggested to use tape.

Additional methods of prolonging the use of the N95 is to place a surgical mask outside of the N95 mask as a first line. This is for healthcare workers who are in contact with patients. Other options are a face shield in addition. Don’t forget eye protection.

By now it is expensive and difficult to buy N95’s. Other options are still out there but disappearing quickly. That is a non deposable half face mask. You will need filters for them. The N95’s are pretty much gone but the the P100’s are available. These are offer even more protection but keep in mind the higher the number the increased difficulty in breathing for many people who use them. Any number of these will do.

Is p100 better than n95?
The number in a rating tells you the minimum amount of airborne challenge particles the mask protects against: an N95 mask keeps out at least 95% of particles but isn’t oil resistant, and a P100 mask is oil proof while protecting the wearer from at least 99.8% of particles.Feb 4, 2020
To sum up: a N95 disposable respirator does not protect against oily particles; a R95 does; a P95 also does and has a longer service life than the R95.Feb 9, 2017
Select a type of respirator to see all approved models:

We do not need those that are resistant to oil. Particulate only.

Non disposable half face masks

Filters for a non disposable mask

The general rule for filter replacement is to leave the contaminated area and dispose of the filter if it becomes damaged, soiled, or breathing becomes difficult. Even if none of these things happen, it’s recommended to dispose of filters after 40 hours of use or 30 days, whichever comes first.

Only needed is particulate filters with these masks:  I was concerned for the weight and breathing difficulty of adding the cartridges. It may be a better in the end to do the whole setup. However it is almost impossible now to find the components. One vendor noted that the government is now purchasing all 3 M supplies. If you can find the cartridge it is 3 M 7093. KEEP IN MIND YOU NEED TWO CARTRIDGES and Filters to go with them. There is much misinformation in advertising. Some offer one with 12 filters. UPDATE: Global Industries have them at the moment.

What it not clear is how to manage these masks with viral contamination. How long the virus remains active. Still checking. I am assuming to handle the same as a disposable mask with wipes on the mask itself. Sanitizing as needed.

Masks for these can be found at welding supply places. I suggest 3M 7000 series with P100 filters. I have N95’s for this mask, but out of sight now. I got some P95’s some weeks ago thinking I might need more, they would be easier to breath with as an alternative. Hard to find half face masks at a good price, the series 6000 are around but not as comfortable. Spend the extra bucks on the 7000. There is a 5000 series- more for being disposable.

Filters :   P100 filter disks.

You may be able to find P95’s. Cyberweld had them last I checked, as well as the P100’s

Different brand respirators require different disks. They are not interchangeable.

You will need appropriate methods for cleaning your respirators. Be sure and purchase cleaning wipes specific for masks. Follow the instructions that come with your mask for sanitizing. Brands may require different methods.

Wearing glasses can be a problem with these masks. It is highly recommended that you be fitted for a mask. OSHA requires it.

Check to see if your mask is the real thing,

Misrepresentation of NIOSH Approval

There have been reports of products using promotional materials that infer or cite NIOSH approval. Some of these products may look very similar to NIOSH-approved respirators. One example is a product that has taken N95 respirators and added decorative fabric for fashionable effectsexternal icon, therefore voiding the approval (http://www.flufashion.netexternal icon). Another example is a surgical mask being advertised as a NIOSH-approved N95 respirator. NIOSH purchased the product, tested it and found it to have over 80% leakage. Several instances of packaging that falsely uses terms like “NIOSH-approved”, and “NIOSH N95” have been brought to our attention. Though it is often difficult to be able to tell from first glance if a respirator is truly NIOSH-certified, the most reliable marking to look for is the NIOSH TC# printed both on the box as well as the product itself (TC# xxx-xxxx). The product can be verified by checking the TC number on the NIOSH website.

Other 3M videos are out there if your mask is substantially different.

Recommended Guidance for Extended Use and Limited Reuse of N95 Filtering Facepiece Respirators in Healthcare Settings

Supplies of N95 respirators can become depleted during an influenza pandemic (1-3) or wide-spread outbreaks of other infectious respiratory illnesses.(4) Existing CDC guidelines recommend a combination of approaches to conserve supplies while safeguarding health care workers in such circumstances.

My final comment is that this is being called a “novel” virus similar to flu. That should perk up our ears. “Novel.” This is the first run of this virus. It will not be seasonal. The Spanish flu became deadly the second time around. This will not end this summer. There are differences from the flu that are disturbing.

Why we are not ramping up masks for those towns and cities now effected is not acceptable. We need to get this stopped in those areas. We need to stop travel from those countries that are infected. We have 35 million masks on hand? Only adding 35 million a month we hear? We should all have as many masks as we wish, use them as much as we want. We need 300 million plus. Write your congressman. That is how this will stop.

This is how we will rest easy. No excuses. It is pure nonsense to have Doctors on TV telling us we don’t need masks. If we want them then we should have them without price gouging and having to wearing a half face mask. Why are so many places in the world wearing them? Hmmm??

I am a person at high risk. Therefore take this information as you see fit.

Check the sources for accuracies. I am not a healthcare provider though I have worked in healthcare. I make no warranty as to the accuracy of the information.

Coronavirus – Time to stock up on N95 Respirator masks

A good prepper should make sure they have a supply of N95 Respirator masks on hand. Just in case the virus gets out of hand. For peace of mind. I’ll give you three of my picks.

At the time of the SARS scare, there was a shortage of masks with many hospitals having to struggle to purchase an adequate supply.

Amazon still is offering masks at a reasonable cost but that will probably change as the demand may increase. I note some suppliers are on delayed delivery.

What you need to know about a good mask. You want more than the flimsy paper masks that you get when you go to the Doctor’s office with a cold.

N95 Respirators and Surgical Masks

Posted on  by Lisa Brosseau, ScD, and Roland Berry Ann –

With the advent of a novel H1N1 influenza outbreak in spring 2009 and the expectation of a second wave during the 2009–2010 flu season, there has been considerable interest in the use of surgical masks (facemasks) and respirators as infection control measures. Although their appearance is often similar, respirators are designed and engineered for distinctly different functions than surgical masks. The amount of exposure reduction offered by respirators and surgical masks differs. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend the use of a NIOSH-certified N95 or better respirator for the protection of healthcare workers who come in direct contact with patients with H1N1.

The CDC guidance can be found  In September 2009 the Institute of Medicine released a report that also recommends N95 respirators for the protection of healthcare workers from H1N1. This blog examines the scientific principles behind the design and performance of surgical masks and respirators. Although these principles apply to all particulate respirators, the discussion presented in this article is focused on the most frequently used respirator in healthcare settings, the N95 filtering facepiece respirator (FFR).

Previously I worked in healthcare. 3M is the gold standard. When looking to purchase be sure the image matches the description. No knock offs from China with this purchase.

This is a good one if you will be wearing it for an extended period of time.

Another good one if you can snag it. Easier and more comfortable breathing as above.

NEW 8511PB1-A-PS Particulate N95 Respirator with Valve, 10-Pack

3M Particulate Respirator 8210, N95,

This is an inexpensive mask.. less than a buck a piece last I checked Amazon. An Amazon top pick. Some vendors back ordered.. Not individually packaged and not as comfortable but will get the job done for short hauls.

No need to panic, but buy them now. I checked Amazon last night and several have moved out completely. Checked vendors. Some gouging underway.

The swamp is not moving on this as they should, so it’s up to us for peace of mind.

For the best in conservative news its.
