One Word Sunday – Messy

One Word Sunday – Messy

For Debbie’s challenge:

Messy

***

The colors are okay, being a red rose, and some pink unknown flowers, and some green leaves and berries, all jammed into a little clear vase with some red shiny ribbon and twine tied around … but ….

It seems to me that this flower arrangement looks messy. It was in the refrigerated case at the store. There was some interesting curlicues on the one flower. I think it was a carnation, but the flower looked a little past it’s prime.

There’s too much going on in this one. What do you think?

***

Another kind of messy is when we would make cut out Christmas cookies, and decorate them. It was fun and very messy. Plus we get to eat our mess.

Here’s a photo of the messy table full of cookies and bowls of colorful frostings, and jars of sprinkles.

And this shadow photo is also for  Debbie’s challenge: (link below)

Shadow

***

This photo shows one time when we actually did get a lot of snow. It rarely happens, but this time it was drifting and deep out in the back yard. I see that the sun was shining though, casting a blue shadow from the fence onto the white snow. 🙂

One Word Sunday – hanging

One Word Sunday – hanging

For Debbie’s challenge:

Hanging

***

Debbie asks us to find photos for the prompt word = hanging. I have a few here.

***

I saw these outside the store one day. Lots of hanging baskets of flowers had purple and yellow ones. I think these are petunias.

***

These red colored geraniums were in a hanging basket. It shows the flowers, leaves, and some background red bricks.

***

Thunder clouds hanging ominously in the sky with raindrops

***

Icicles hanging from the eaves of the house roof one cold day

***

Two bicycles, one blue one just hanging out on the sidewalk in front of a store, and another is hanging upside down from the rafters inside a reataurant.

***

And finally …

At sunrise one morning I was out there taking photos, when I noticed something hanging from the edge of the roof. Getting closer, I saw the spider. He or she had a nice web, but it didn’t show up, but he/she was enjoying dangling there I guess. In the first photo you can just barely see the spider (a little dot). I thought the reflection in the window of the sunrise was pretty cool, too! 🙂 … This afternoon the spider was still there, so I got a closer photo of him. 🙂

One Word Sunday – Wiggly

One Word Sunday – Wiggly

For Debbie’s challenge:

Wiggly

***

One of those funny advertising wiggly things. I don’t know what to call them, but they are fun to see.

***

Several flowers with orange petals and long wiggly looking stems.

***

A real wiggly earthworm from the yard.

***

For today’s wiggly photo I have this one. I took this photo from the plane, as we were flying over Missouri. We were getting close to our destination of Columbia MO. It is the Missouri River, and I like how it snakes around and has all the little spiky edges of water.

One Word Sunday – Repeat

Standard

One Word Sunday – Repeat

For Debbie’s challenge:

Repeat

***

Seeing double? Yes, there are two twin orange daisies with yellow centers. It is wonderful that flowers can repeat themselves, looking alike, and also when some come back each year, repeating the cycle of new flowers, that repeat the ones before.

***

Here’s an old riddle:

Pete and Repeat were sitting on a wall. Pete fell off, who was left? Repeat! Pete and Repeat were sitting on a wall. Pete fell off, who was left? Repeat! …. and it goes on and on 🙂
