Wishes May Come True

When I was a kid I thought it would be fun to be invisible. I could loiter around any place I felt like, eavesdropping on conversations, seeing what people did, and surveying my every desire. But now that I am a ghost, my dreams came true, and honestly it’s not all that fun. Just once I wish I could have a real conversation with someone. I want them to see me, not be invisible. All my little tricks and noise making just scares them away thinking they are being haunted. My advice would be to tell people to be careful what they wish for.

I was wanting to use my own photo as a background, but it didn’t do it, or I did it wrong. This was the best of 10 I tried, and it still isn’t what I wanted. It was fun trying though.

And the picture (at least in the preview) is little. I wanted it bigger, but I don’t know how to make them bigger.

I may try some more some day. haha

These hands will soon be moldy

Just ‘a-layin’ in my grave

My legs will grow some fuzzies

All green and violet blue

My hair will be all tangled

As webs are woven through

By a hitchhiking little spider

Whose number was up, too

My nails will grow a bit longer

As my fingers shrink and dry

My eyes will be glazed over

Milky white and sticky goo

There will be red blood vessels

Also poking through.

And on the night of All Souls Day

My essence will form a mist

I’ll ooze out from my casket as

An eerie little whisp

Re-forming above that mound of dirt

My new born soul will roam

I’ll haunt the places that I love and

Be welcomed happily home

If you ever go poking

Deep down in my grave

I won’t be there all alone

But as a greeting when you pry off that lid,

I’ve left you a message right there on my phone

Thank you for visiting!

I’ll visit you soon!

Missing Shoe Mystery

Missing Shoe Mystery

***

This is a recent happening here at home.

One of my shoes has gone missing.

I have these Croc shoes I only wear when I go somewhere. They are always left in the same place on the floor, right by my filing cabinet in my bedroom. It’s right next to the closet, too. Now, one of them is gone missing. I asked my husband if he did something with one of  my shoes, and he said no he hadn’t.

I haven’t worn them in months, because I haven’t been anywhere. So yesterday I noticed one was gone. I know I didn’t move one somewhere else, because why would I? I did open the closet door and look, but the shoe wasn’t in there. I looked under the bed and it was not there. I looked all over the bedroom, and it’s nowhere to be found.

Where did it go? Why is it gone? Will I ever find it again?

One thought is my house mouse or rat has absconded with it. But it seems the shoe would be a bit heavy for that little critter to take off with it. And why would they want a shoe? Where would they hide it so I couldn’t find it?

Another thought is maybe my house ghost has taken the shoe. That seems the most possible, as my ghost has lots of times in the past stole something of mine. It’s mischievous like that. Most times the ghost brings it back … eventually. So if my ghost has my shoe, it’s just for fun and games. haha that’s okay. But it’s getting fall, and if I have to go somewhere I’ll be needing my shoe. Otherwise I’ll have to wear my open flip flop kind of sandals, because that’s all the shoes I have.

One other thought is a little time warp deal, where my shoe fell through to another dimension. My counterpart over there might have needed a shoe for some reason, or it was just having fun with me, too. I know my things sometimes fall through, and then they appear again later.

I’ll keep waiting and looking to find my shoe again. If I ever get it back, I’ll let you know.

Life After Death

This week the theme is to find a song that you would like to be played at your funeral suggested by Di of pensitivity101.

***

Well, this is an interesting subject. But thinking about it, and songs that would be good, there are so many to choose from.

Here’s two I love, and I’ve posted them before, but they are favorites.

Obviously the first one speaks of ghosts, which suits me fine. The second one is meaningful because as long as I can remember I’ve looked up at the stars and imagined my real home is up there somewhere.

Hope you like these.

“If You Could Read My Mind”, by Gordon Lightfoot, was released as a single from his album, “Sit Down Stranger”, in 1969. It was written by himself, and is on the Reprise label.

It reached No. 1 on the Canadian Singles Chart on commercial release in 1970 and charted in several other countries on international release in 1971

If you could read my mind, loveWhat a tale my thoughts could tellJust like an old time movie‘Bout a ghost from a wishing wellIn a castle dark or a fortress strongWith chains upon my feetYou know that ghost is meAnd I will never be set freeAs long as I’m a ghost, you can’t see
If I could read your mind, loveWhat a tale your thoughts could tellJust like a paperback novelThe kind the drugstore sellsWhen you reach the part where the heartaches comeThe hero would be meBut heroes often failAnd you won’t read that book againBecause the ending’s just too hard to take
I’d walk away like a movie starWho gets burned in a three way scriptEnter number two, a movie queen to play the sceneOf bringing all the good things out in meBut for now love, let’s be real
I never thought I could act this wayAnd I’ve got to say that I just don’t get itI don’t know where we went wrongBut the feeling’s gone and I just can’t get it back
If you could read my mind, loveWhat a tale my thoughts could tellJust like an old time movie ‘Bout a ghost from a wishing wellIn a castle dark or a fortress strongWith chains upon my feetBut stories always endAnd if you read between the linesYou’ll know that I’m just trying to understandThe feelings that you lack
I never thought I could feel this wayAnd I’ve got to say that I just don’t get itI don’t know where we went wrongBut the feeling’s goneAnd I just can’t get it back

The Anniversary

~

Today she would find out if her entire life was a lie.

Jiggling her foot and twisting a strand of hair through her fingers, Marissa closed her eyes and prayed, “Let it be good … let it be good”.

But, it wasn’t.

Gripping the edge of the table where she sat she willed herself not to pass out. Happy noises, jangly music, and carnival smells faded to the background of her consciousness, as the old fortune teller continued gazing into her crystal ball.

With a gasp, Madame Sophia clutched her chest. “Get out … get out now…”.

“What? What do you mean?” Marissa stared at the old woman.

“Leave now; I don’t give readings to ghosts.” She made the sign of the cross, then turned her back.

Confused, Marissa glanced at the crystal ball. She saw a granite gravestone with her name and dates of birth and death carved there. She’d died a hundred years ago on this very date.

First I thought of, well, cameras which I’ll get to in a minute.

Next was my ’69 Camaro. I loved that car. I can’t remember if I have a picture of the Camaro, but it was a deep burgundy, with black top. It had an 8-track tape deck in there, and I went right out and bought a Simon & Garfunkle tape to play in it.

***

Cameras I have!

Here are some of my cameras. I don’t know that they work any more since I don’t use them.  I don’t remember having a photo of me taking a picture with a camera, or anyone else, for that matter. The silver one (middle left) I guess is still working, but I got weird vibes from it. I think my house ghost didn’t like me using it, or something, because it would snatch all the energy from the batteries as soon as I put new ones in. I tried over and over with brand new batteries, and every time, they would be immediately be drained. The Minolta on the bottom left was my favorite, but it quit working, and I couldn’t find anyone who could repair it.  I also had fun with my ‘Swinger’ camera. You could pull the picture out and wait for it to develop. Now, I just use my phone camera.

My first camera was an old fashioned box camera that was my Dad’s. It only took black & white pictures you’d have to get developed. That was no problem though, as my Dad fixed up a dark room and he’d develop them himself.
