What is a Biller?

A biller plays an essential role in the financial ecosystem by ensuring that billing processes are handled smoothly, contributing to both the business’s financial health and its relationship with customers. In other words, a Biller is a customer designated to handle payments for invoices on behalf of other customers, referred to as Billed Customers. By marking a customer as a Biller, you consolidate the payment process, allowing the Biller to pay for all invoices associated with their linked Customers.

How Does a Biller Work?

When a customer is set as a Biller:

  • They become the main point of contact for payments.

  • Invoices from multiple linked customers are consolidated and handled by the Biller.

This streamlines the invoicing process and ensures that payments for multiple customers are managed efficiently through one central entity.

Example of a Biller in Action

Imagine you are servicing vehicles for ABC Company, which has multiple branches. Each branch operates as a separate customer in your system because they manage their own vehicles.

  • Instead of invoicing each branch individually, you can designate ABC Company (Head Office) as the Biller.

  • The branches remain as Billed Customers, receiving services and generating invoices, but ABC Company (Head Office) is responsible for paying these invoices.

This approach simplifies the payment process by consolidating invoices from all branches under one account, reducing administrative effort and improving efficiency.

Benefits of Using a Biller

Streamlined Payments: One central customer handles payments for multiple linked accounts

Simplified Management: Reduces the need to track payments from multiple individual customers.

Improved Organization: Consolidates invoicing and payment processes under one primary account.
