Order parts through PartsTech

This guide shows you how to order parts from PartsTech directly through Workshop Software.

Please note: Only American and Canadian clients can use the PartsTech integration.

Step 1: Add Parts to Your Invoice

  1. Add your PartsTech parts to the invoice or job card.
  2. Click Save.

Step 2: Create a Supplier Stock Order

  1. Click the plus sign at the top of Workshop Software.
  2. Select Supplier Stock Order.

Step 3: Select the Supplier and Add Parts

  1. Select the supplier you want to order from (e.g., Advance Auto Parts or WorldPac).
  2. Copy or search for the parts you ordered from PartsTech into the products section.

Step 4: Create the Order

  1. Once all parts are added, click the Star button.
  2. Select Create Order.

Step 5: Complete the Order in PartsTech

  1. You will be taken directly into the PartsTech ordering system.
  2. Click Add to Cart.

Step 6: Checkout and Submit

  1. Click Proceed to Checkout to finalise the order.

  1. Click Submit Quote to place the order.

Step 7: Review the Order in Workshop Software

  1. After placing the order, you are returned to Workshop Software.
  2. View the order under PartsTech Session Orders — this matches the order placed in PartsTech.

Step 8: Receive and Process the Delivery

  1. When the parts are delivered, process the stock order by creating a vendor invoice.
  2. You will need to process the stock order to update your inventory.

Good to Know

  • The PartsTech integration is only available for American and Canadian Workshop Software clients.
  • Parts ordered through PartsTech will appear as a stock order in Workshop Software until they are received and invoiced.
  • Make sure your PartsTech account is fully set up before attempting to place orders.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I order from multiple suppliers at once?

You need to create a separate supplier stock order for each supplier. Repeat the process for each supplier you want to order from.

What happens if I cancel a PartsTech order?

Cancel the order in PartsTech directly, then update the stock order in Workshop Software to reflect the cancellation.
