One Word Sunday – World

For Debbie’s One Word Sunday:

I remember always watching this TV show when I was a kid.

It is Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color. It showed movies, cartoons, informational shows, and of course was kind of an advertisement for Disneyland.

I can’t remember when we got our first color TV, but I’m pretty sure I was a teenager. I remember the day my dad brought it home. It was a ‘big deal’ at the time. It was also a big TV!

Up until then we had a small black & white one.

Here’s a short intro to the show:

Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color was the iteration of the Walt Disney anthology series that ran on NBC from 1961 to 1969. It was so named because the show had moved to NBC, which was the first television network broadcasting its programs in color, to take advantage of that technology.
