January 18, 2026 – Song that mentions Time

***

Lots of songs have the word time in the title or lyrics, as it is a common theme I suppose. Here are a couple  I like.

***

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_Time

“Time Machine,” by Grand Funk Railroad, was released as a single from their first studio album, “On Time”, in 1969. It was produced by Terry Knight, and is on the Capitol Records label.

  • On Time went Gold in 1970 and is seen as foundational to heavy metal.
  • “Time Machine” was their first single, reaching #48 on the charts.

Well a-hey there baby, do you want to make the scene?I said a-hey there baby, do you want to make the scene?Aw well come on over baby, step into my time machineYou best jump into my action, I’m gonna make you feel rightAw, jump into my action, I’m gonna make you feel rightDon’t worry ’bout tomorrow ’cause I’m gonna love you tonight
Step into the front row, I’m gonna show you howStep into the front row, I wanna show you how
Don’t worry ’bout no time we can always come back to right nowAw and I’m gonna’ give it to you
When you wanna come back, we just a turn aboutWhen you wanna come back, we just a turn aboutBut we ain’t gonna’ come back ’till there ain’t no doubtNow don’t it get good to you, ah-do you know what I mean?Said don’t it get good to you, don’t you know what I mean?Well come on over baby, jump into my time machine

Here’s another older song about time:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Won%27t_Let_Me

“Time Won’t Let Me”, by The Outsiders, was released in 1965 as a single. It was written by Tom King and Chet Kelly, and is on the Capitol label.

Time Won’t Let Me” is a 1966 garage rock hit by The Outsiders (originally the Starfires) from Cleveland, Ohio, known for its catchy Merseybeat/Motown fusion, reaching #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling over a million copies.

Squares – Moving Forward Around the Clock

For Becky’s Square Challenge:

One step at a time

***

There are four Squares themes, and you can use all or one, or a few of them;

Burgeoning – Move Forward – Reconstruct – Renew

***

Time moves either fast or slow, but it never stops moving forward.

***

My grand-daughter’s toy clock! It’s round, yellow, and all the numbers are a different shape to be put in like a puzzle.

***

“Rock Around the Clock”, by Bill Haley & His Comets, was released in 1954 & 1955, from the album, “Rock Around the Clock”. It was written by Max C. Freedman & James E. Meyers, and is on the Decca label.

This is a month long challenge, hosted by Becky of “The Life of B”.

This month’s theme is  past squares – and here is where you find the main details https://beckybofwinchester.com/square-daily-photo-challenge/
The most important rule of this challenge is that your photo Must be Square!

To join in, find out the details, and see other entries, just click the above link. It’s fun! 🙂

***

I’ll also be adding a song to go along with the photo in one way or another.

Enjoy!

***

So, this time the Squares Challenge is a bit different, as Becky wants us to pick past photos from all the topics we’ve had in the past. The top photo lists them all. Thanks so much, Becky!

***

The topic of Time I think was my favorite of the squares challenge. I had plenty of photos of clocks and watches, plus there were lots of songs about time.

I mixed these ones up as the clock below was from the 2nd day, and the song was from the 1st day – both in December of 2018.

***

Just a little clock I have. It’s heavier than it looks, as it is made of crystal. It is 3 inches tall, one inch wide, and 4 inches long. I estimate it weighing about a pound.

***

“Fly Like an Eagle”, by Steve Miller Band, was released as a single from their album, “Fly Like and Eagle”, in 1976. It was written by Steve Miller, and is on the Capitol label.

Another regular watch of mine I like, because it is black & gold.

Also, one of my favorite books, “The Time Machine”, by H. G. Wells. I loved the book and the original movie, and it’s part of why I named my blog ‘teleportingweena’. This copy of the book is pretty old and yellowed, because I got it at a book sale a long time ago. It used to be a library book. The check-out card says it was first checked out in 1986, and the last time was 1996.

Another of my old watches. This one is an Elgin, wind up watch. Sadly, it doesn’t wind up any more.

This is a watch/necklace that if I remember correctly, belonged to my grandma. I’m not positive, though she usually did wear one of these. It’s not all that old, as it takes a battery.

This Cinderella watch is one I’ve had since I was a kid. It’s not the original band, though, as it wore out. It is a wind up watch, but doesn’t wind any more, but you can still move the watch hands.
