“All Day and All of the Night”, by the Kinks, was released as a single from their album, “Kinks-Size” in 1964. It was written by Ray Davies, and is on the Pye and Reprise labels.
From the Songfacts article: https://www.songfacts.com/facts/the-kinks/all-day-and-all-of-the-night
During a July 12, 2006 concert at the Mountain Winery in Saratoga, Ray Davies explained how the song was originally rejected by his record company because it was “too blue-collar, too working-class” and because the record execs thought the guitar sounded like a dog’s bark.

Girl, I want to be with you all of the time
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl, I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
Oh yeah, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl, I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night
Oh, come on
Oh yeah, all day and nighttime yours, leave me never
The only time I feel alright is by your side
Girl, I want to be with you all of the time
All day and all of the night
All day and all of the night-time
All day and all of the night
Now for another contrast!
This is the same song as a cover, done by The Scorpions.
This video is of course in color, but the whole thing is jazzed up with the lights and the energy displayed by the band.
In the original video of the Kinks, there are no flashing lights, no color, and really not much excitement of them singing the song. It is very plain and they barely move around the stage.
I much prefer the Scorpions!
